Assembly
Auxiliary Handle (see figure A)
Operate your machine only with the auxiliary handle 5.
The auxiliary handle 5 can be set to any position for a secure
and low-fatigue working posture.
Turn the bottom part of the auxiliary handle 5 in counterclock-
wise direction and swivel the auxiliary handle 5 to the desired
position. Then retighten the bottom part of the auxiliary han-
dle 5 by turning in clockwise direction.
Changing the Tool (see figure B)
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Wear protective gloves when changing the tool. The
drill chuck can become very hot during longer work peri-
ods.
Open the key type drill chuck 1 by turning until the tool can be
inserted. Insert the tool.
Insert the chuck key 6 into the corresponding holes of the key
type drill chuck 1 and clamp the tool uniformly.
Screwdriver Tools (see figure C)
When working with screwdriver bits 8, a universal bit holder 9
should always be used. Use only screwdriver bits that fit the
screw head.
Replacing the Drill Chuck
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Removing the Securing Screw (see figure D)
The key type drill chuck 1 is secured with a securing screw 10
against unintentional loosening. Open the drill chuck 1 com-
pletely and unscrew the securing screw 10 by turning in
clockwise direction. Please observe that the securing
screw has a left-hand thread.
If the securing screw 10 is seated tightly, apply a screwdriver
to the screw head and loosen the securing screw by giving a
blow onto the handle of the screwdriver.
Removing the Drill Chuck (see figure E)
To remove the key type drill chuck 1, clamp an Allen key 11 in-
to the key type drill chuck 1. Place the machine onto a stable
support, e. g. a workbench. Hold the machine tightly and loos-
en the key type drill chuck 1 by turning the Allen key 11 in an-
ticlockwise direction. A tightly seated key type drill chuck is
loosened by applying a light blow onto the long end of the Al-
len key 11. Remove the Allen key from the key type drill chuck
and fully unscrew the drill chuck.
Mounting the Drill Chuck (see figure F)
The drill type key chuck is mounted in reverse order.
The drill chuck must be tightened with a tightening
torque of approx. 10–15 Nm.
Bosch Power Tools
Screw the securing screw 10 in anti-clockwise direction into
the opened keyless chuck. Always use a new securing screw,
as the threads are covered with a thread-locking compound
that loses its effect after multiple usage.
Dust/Chip Extraction
Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings,
some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to
one's health. Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause
allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of
the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered
as carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-treat-
ment additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials
containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the mate-
rials to be worked.
Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace. Dusts can
easily ignite.
Operation
Starting Operation
Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage of the pow-
er source must agree with the voltage specified on the
nameplate of the machine. Power tools marked with
230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Reversing the rotational direction
The rotational direction switch 2 is used to reverse the rota-
tional direction of the machine. However, this is not possible
with the On/Off switch 3 actuated.
Right Rotation: For drilling and driving in screws, push the
rotational direction switch 2 left to the stop.
Left Rotation: For loosening and unscrewing screws and
nuts, press the rotational direction switch 2 through to the
right stop.
Switching On and Off
To start the machine, press the On/Off switch 3 and keep it
pressed.
To lock the pressed On/Off switch 3, press the lock-on button
4.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off switch 3 or
when it is locked with the lock-on button 4, briefly press the
On/Off switch 3 and then release it.
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.
Adjusting the Speed
The speed of the switched-on power tool can be variably ad-
justed, depending on how far the On/Off switch 3 is pressed.
Light pressure on the On/Off switch 3 results in a low rotation-
al speed. Further pressure on the switch results in an increase
in speed.
