Select program
By touching the area for the balancing mode (16) 2 dif-
ferent modes can be selected.
Mode STANDARD 12h (factory setting)
There are 8 wheel balancing programs available. The
choice of these programs is conditioned by the geome-
try of the rim and the position of the weight placement.
i
Placement of the weights is ALWAYS done in the
„12 o´clock position". If Mode STANDARD is active
the symbol
(16) is displayed.
The balancing mode is selected by simply touching the
weight shown (17) on the screen.
Mode POS
In Mode POS the balancing programs are detected
automatically depending on where the gauge arm is
placed on the rim. The automatic selected program
can be corrected from ALU 2 to ALU 3 and vice versa by
pushing the ALU button (17).
i
Only the most common balancing programs A
(Steel rims), D (ALU 2) und E (ALU 3) are available.
The activation of Mode POS is shown by the sym-
bol
.
Placing the clip on wheel weights is done in the „12
o´clock position", placing adhesive wheel weights is AL-
WAYS done by using the gauge arm.
During the measurement of the data the real values of
the correction planes on the rim are detected. The no-
minal values of the rim are calculated from those real
values. The display of the nominal values is meant as an
indication only, those are not relevant for the imbalan-
ce measurement.

Out of this it might happen that the nominal values
displayed do not exactly correspond with the va-
lues of the rim, i.e. a width of 5 inches is displayed
while the rim is 5,5 inch rim.

Data input in Mode STANDARD (12h)
The wheel balancer automatically detects that wheel
data are entered.
Is the wheel positioned in any other position that the „12
o´clock position" and the gauge arm is moved from its
home position the balancer switches to „read wheel
data".
Is the wheel positioned in the „12 o´clock position"
„place adhesive wheel weights with gauge arm" is ac-
tive. In order to read wheel data the wheel simply has to
be moved out of the „12 o´clock position".
In Mode STANDARD the following balancing programs

are available.
