Starting the appliance

Before starting the appliance for the first
time
Always remember that an improper use of
the electric current may be fatal. Please,
carefully read the indications on page 17
and follow these safety instructions:
- Before filling the appliance with water
always turn the appliance off and pull
the plug out of the socket.
- Never touch the iron soleplate when in
use: burn hazard!
- Never let the iron soleplate touch the
power cord.
- Pay attention the steam is never di-
rected towards people or animals:
burn hazard!
- Since the steam generator is under
pressure, the safety cap should never
be opened.
- Clean the appliance only when un-
plugged and when it has completely
cooled down.
Using the appliance
This iron is equipped with a small pump con-
veying water in the iron soleplate. Here the
water warms up turning into powerful steam
jets.
The iron comes also with a semi-profession-
al soleplate offering several advantages.
- Unlike a "normal" iron, a semi-profes-
sional iron emits steam only at the tip.
The great amount of steam emitted "pen-
etrates" easily in the several fabric layers
well dampening the garments
- The back side of the soleplate immedi-
ately dry the linen
- Thanks to the combination of steam and
drying surface the time of ironing reduces
remarkably.

1. Placement

Choose the ironing area following these in-
dications:
- a steady ironing board with a steam-ab-
sorbent top can be used (ex. expanded
metal)
- pay attention to place the ironing board on
a flat, even, dry surface, near a socket
- never put the appliance on or near warm
surfaces or near a flame
- use the appliance in dry rooms only
- use only fit extension cord (3 earthing
poles and a wire with a section of 1 mm
pay attention not to trip over the cord
- to avoid burns, make sure children can-
not come near or play with the appliance
when in use
Attention: the iron must be used only
with the stand provided.
Ironing boards with a wood top or "silver"
covers are not suitable being not permeable
to steam. Due to the great amount of steam
produced, the wood risks to get damaged.
