Each Babyguard can take on four modes:
"Disconnected": the parent moves away from the Babyguard and the child is
•
not sitting on it.
"Connected": on it. E.g.: The parent is in the car near the car seat, but the
•
child is not sitting in it.
"Connected with the child seated": the parent is close to the Babyguard and
•
the the child is sitting on it. E.g.: The parent is in the car near the car seat that
appears to be occupied by the child.
"Disconnected with the child seated": the parent is away from the Babyguard
•
and the child is sitting on it. E.g.: The parent has moved away from the car,
leaving the child in the car sitting in the car seat.
Once the Babyguard enters the "Disconnected with the child seated" state an
alarm is sounded and a countdown of 40 seconds begins. During this time, the
user is able to silence the alarm and prevent the SMS from being sent (Figure 9).
The generation of the alarm message and the consequent emergency
SMS sending remain active even when the applications are in a
background state.
