Use
The eccentric sander can be used for all sanding tasks on
on wood, paint, metal and plastics.
Double insulation
For the greatest possible user safety, our devices are built
in compliance with European regulations (EN norms).
Double insulated machines always carry the international
symbol
. These machines do not need to be grounded.
A two-lead cable is sufficient. The machines are screened
against radio interference in accordance with EN 55014.
Motor
The powerful universal motor does not mind long con-
tinuous operations. As for all other electric tools, observe
the instructions concerning removal of dust and dirt within
the scope of maintenance and upkeep of the machine.
Note:
Important technical information on your eccentric sander!
The eccentric sander is equipped with a rotatable bearing-
mounted sanding disc; that is, there is no rigid connection
between the sanding disc and the drive motor. For this
reason, the disc can be turned by hand when the machine
is at a standstill.
After switching on the machine, the sanding disc is
picked up and driven by the motor. The rotation is depen-
dent on the sanding pressure applied so that the sanding
disc will come to a standstill if a large amount of pressure
is applied while eccentric motion is nervertheless maintai-
ned.
Initial operation
Before starting the machine for the first time, check
whether the mains voltage corresponds to the indication
on the specification plate of the machine.
Safety information and accident prevention
Before starting the machine for the first time, read the
Operating Instructions completely. Observe the Safety In-
formation in these instructions as well as the general
Safety Information for Power Tools in the included booklet.
1. Always pull the power plug when making any ad-
justments to the machine.
2. Damaged power cables may not be used. They must
be replaced immediately by a qualified electrician.

3. Always wear safety goggles when working with the
eccentric sander.
4. Always keep your hair tied back, and do not wear
loose clothing.
5. Protect the machine against moisture when work-
ing outdoors.
6. Always keep the machine out of reach of children.
7. Always work with dust extraction (dust bag or
vacuum cleaner connection).
When working without extraction, it is necessary to
wear a breathing mask. To protect your health,
please close the fan flange with the included seal-
ing cap (10). This reduces the risk that dust from
sanding which could be injurious to your health
reaches your lungs.
8. Wear ear protection when working with the ma-
chine for prolonged periods.
9. The eccentric sander must be used for dry work
only.
10. Do not sand material containing asbestos.
11. The dust produced when working on stone contain-
ing crystalline silicic acid is harmful to health.
12. Observe accident prevention regulations VBG 119.
13. Outdoor power sockets must be secured with dif-
ferential current switches.
14. Do not drill into the machine housing to identify the
machine because this overrides the protective insu-
lation. Use adhesive labels.
Switch with holding button for continuous operation
The machine is set in operation by pressing in the handle
switch. The holding button on the side of the switch is
pressed in for continuous operation. To release the con-
tinuous operation, merely depress the switch which makes
the holding button spring back automatically.
Dust extraction unit
This eccentric sander features a dust extraction unit.
Sanding dust is removed by an extractor fan and blown
into the dust bag.
Attaching the dust extractor
Push dust bag with catch (9) onto seat on fan flange from
handle side and press down. The catch is engaged by
spring pressure. The dust bag can be removed by pulling
the molded grip. Empty the dust bag when suction begins
to drop off. To do this, pull off clamp (2) in direction of ar-
row and push it back into position after emptying the dust
bag.
Adapter for vacuum cleaner connection
(optional accessory)
The adapter (11) enables the removal of sanding dust by
suction, using an ordinary commercial vacuum cleaner,
particularly for large-surface areas. Attachment and dis-
attachment is done in the same manner as the dust bag.
The rubber reduction piece (12) can be used to reduce the
diameter of the connector to that of the vacuum cleaner
pipe, if this is necessary.
Working with the eccentric sander
To achieve the best sanding results, move the eccentric
sander in a line of large circles or crosswise.
To avoid deep sanding marks or even sanding through sur-
faces like veneers, do not tilt the sander.
Important!
Do not lift the machine from the workpiece until you
have switched it off. This prevents unwanted sanding
marks which can arise when the device is lifted before it
comes to a stop.
