TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The equipment is designed to permit welding with alternating and direct current.
Sockets on the front permit connection of a TIG torch and welding cables with
handsets for coated electrodes.
TIGAID 315 AC/DC may be connected to 115, 230, 240 V 50/60 Hz single phase
mains supplies.
There is also a version with a 24 V socket, which can be connected to a power
socket on the power source.
The unit has a gas control system that supplies the torch with shielding gas during
welding. Time delays for switching on and off the welding current are fully adjustable.
There is also an arc ignition feature, which uses a harmless high voltage spark to ig-
nite the arc during DC welding.
During AC welding ignition pulses are used to stabilise the arc so that it is not extin-
guished during the zero voltage phase of the alternating current cycle.
