Troubleshooting
i
If you cannot resolve the problem using these in-
structions, please contact Bosch customer service.
6.1
The PC does not start up correctly
If the monitor does not come on after switching on the
PC, and no error messages appear, proceed as follows:
¶
Check that the computer and monitor are switched
on (look at the activity lights).
¶
Check the monitor contrast and brightness.
¶
Make sure that all cables and network connection
leads are firmly plugged in.
¶
Ensure that the power supply for the system and
monitor is on.
6.2
The monitor is not working
If nothing appears on the monitor, even though the PC
has started up and the keyboard and all connected pe-
ripheral devices seem to be functioning correctly, check
the following:
¶
Check the monitor brightness and contrast adjuster.
¶
Check that the monitor cable is correctly connected.
¶
Ensure that the monitor is connected at the socket
and switched on.
¶
Switch off the monitor and remove the mains plug
from the socket. Unplug the monitor cable and check
whether the pins on the cable are bent. If required,
carefully straighten the bent pins.
¶
If the monitor display is not correctly adjusted, cen-
tre it using the adjusters on the monitor (please see
monitor manual for further details). Use the monitor
handbook to check which refresh rate is required.
Call up the appropriate operating system functions
to select the correct refresh rate.

The keyboard is not working
¶
Check that the keyboard is correctly connected to
the PC's keyboard interface.
¶
Also check whether any keys on the keyboard are
stuck. If a key is stuck, loosen it by carefully lifting it
upwards with your finger.
¶
Check that no liquid has been spilled on the key-
board. If it has, have the keyboard repaired or
replaced.
6.4
The mouse is not working
¶
Check that the mouse is correctly connected to the
PC's mouse interface.
¶
Check that the mouse driver contained in the pre-
installed software has been correctly installed.
6.5
The CD/DVD ROM is not being read
¶
If errors occur, check that the the non-printed side
of the CD/DVD is clean and that it has been inserted
correctly. Otherwise, the PC will be unable to access
data on the CD/DVD.
¶
Check whether the CD/DVD can be read on a differ-
ent PC.
