prevent shiny stains from appearing. Iron velvet fabrics in one direction (in the direction of fi bres) and do not
press on the iron to prevent shiny stains from appearing. The more laundry is put into the washing machine,
the more wrinkled the laundry will be. Laundry will also wrinkle more during high speed spin. Many fabrics
are easier to iron if not completely dry. For example, silk should always be ironed moist. Use the temperature
control to set the ironing temperature according to the type of fabric (fi g. 3). A lit indicator signals the
heat-up process of the soleplate. The indicator light going out signals the required temperature has been
reached and the ironing process can begin. The soleplate temperature indicator may light up during ironing,
which indicates that the temperature is maintained. If, after ironing at high temperature, you reduce the
temperature using the regulator, do not continue ironing until the indicator of the soleplate temperature
lights up again.
Note: Since cooling requires longer time than heating, we recommend that you iron the fabrics that require
lower temperature fi rst. This way you eliminate the risk of burning the fabric.
IRONING AND THE STEAM FUNCTION
Ironing without steam
GB
When ironing without steam, set the steam regulator to "
" and set the temperature according to the type
of fabric.
Ironing with steam
The temperature for steam ironing should be set to
. The amount of steam can be set using the steam
z z
control. We recommend to set temperature to
for the maximum amount of steam. If the temperature is
z z z
set too low, it can result in dripping water!
Ironing with the steam burst
To iron out hard to remove wrinkles using strong steam burst slowly (thick spray) or fast (fi ne spray), press the
steam burst button (fi g. 4). For fi ne fabrics, we recommend moistening the fabric or to inserting a damp cloth
between the fabric and iron before using the spray function. Prevent stains from appearing by not using the
spray function on silk or synthetic material.
Vertical steam burst
To iron out and smooth wrinkled hung drapes, curtains, clothing, etc. hold the iron in a vertical position
(fi g. 6) and press the steam burst button. Wait a few seconds before pressing again. The spray function is only
available at high temperatures. Stop using the spray function as soon as the soleplate temperature indicator
lights up. Continue ironing only after the indicator light goes out.
Attention: Never direct the steam burst at persons or animals.
Sprinkling
To moisten hard to remove wrinkles, press the spray button (fi g. 2) slowly (strong spray) or fast (misting spray).
OTHER FUNCTIONS
ANTI-CALC system
Special synthetic resin fi lter inside the water reservoir softens the water and prevents scaling. The resin fi lter
is permanent and does not require changing.
ANTI-DRIP system
This function prevents water escaping from the soleplate when the temperature is too low. This system
enables you to perfectly iron even the fi nest of fabrics. The iron can cool down to a temperature at which
the steam process is not carried out, however, drops of boiling water can cause stains. The anti-drip system is
automatically activated in cases like this, preventing the vaporization process so you can iron even the fi nest
of fabrics without the risk of staining or damaging them.
