Installation and Mode of Operation
1. Before installing the filter system, disconnect electrical power to any equipment connected to the inlet or outlet of this filter system.
2. Close the manual shut off valve prior to installing the filter cartridges.
3. The filter system is to be mounted vertically to the wall or support surface (See Figure 2). Use the holes on the mounting bracket as guides. Mark
and drill holes in the wall or surface. Attach the clamping plate to the wall or support surface using either screws, lag screws or anchors.
4. Install the filter head to the mounting bracket using the screws provided. The filter head can be installed with the inlet on the right or left.
5. Connect the output part of the filter to the equipment that it will feed into using the included fitting (3/8"T x 1/4" elbow) and tubing (1/4"OD or 3/8"
O.D.). Adapters (not included with this filter kit) may be needed to connect this filter to existing pipeline connections. Use Teflon tape with threaded
connections. It is recommended that you hire a qualified plumber to conduct the installation.
6. To install the quick-change cartridge filter for bacteria reduction (microfiltration), center the filter stem in the mounting head, inserting and
rotating it a quarter of a turn to secure it in place. Follow the instructions on the cartridge label or view the illustrations.
7. Turn on the water supply to the system and inspect for leaks.
8. Open the valve that dispenses the filtered water to the equipment and rinse the filter for bacteria reduction (microfiltration) cartridge, with 5
gallons of water (approximately 12 minutes for fountains or 4 minutes for bottle filling stations). This will purge any air from the cartridge, rinse
out loose filter media, and will help it achieve its maximum life expectancy. After rinsing the filter, close the valve that dispenses the water. The
system will then be ready for operation. Reconnect electrical power to any equipment that was disconnected during the installation process.
Note: Only use this system with public water supplies.
