Using the guide bushes (fig. G)
Secure the template to the workpiece using
end clamps.
Select and install an appropriate guide bush
(26).
Subtract the diameter of the cutter from the
outside diameter of the guide bush and divide
by 2. This is the difference between template
and workpiece.
If the workpiece is not thick enough,
place it on a piece of waste wood.
Guiding off a batten
Where an edge guide cannot be used, it is also
possible to guide the router along a batten
clamped across the workpiece (with an
overhang at both ends).
Freehand routing
Your router can also be used without any sort of
guide, e.g. for signwriting or creative work.
Make shallow cuts only! Use cutters
with a max. diameter of 6 mm.
Where a parallel guide or guide bush are
inappropriate, it is possible to use pilot cutters
(30) for cutting shaped edges.
Consult your dealer for further information on the
appropriate accessories.
These include collets (6-8 mm), a depth stop for
use in inverted position, finger jointing tools for
dovetail and finger jointing jigs, dowel jointing
templates, guide bushes (17-40 mm) and guide
rails in various lengths.

Your BERNER Power Tool has been designed to

the router base (10).

GUARANTEE AND GUARANTEE SERVICE
Each tool, spare part or accessory is
consistently checked before being dispatched
from the manufacturing plant. If, despite this
fact, there are any defects, please send the
item directly to our Client Services
Headquarters or to the nearest service repair
shop of the firm BERNER.
The guarantee period is 12 months and starts
from the day of purchase, which must be
proved by the original of the purchase
document. During the guarantee period the
producer guarantees:
• free removal of possible defects;
• free replacement of all damaged parts;
• free professional servicing.
This is conditioned on the fact that the defect
or failure was not caused by unprofessional
service and that only original spare parts
which BERNER exclusively recommends for
use in BERNER tools were used.
The addresses of repair workshops are given
on the reverse side.
