Wipe spilled oil immediately off the instrument. The
instrument could be damaged by oil ingress.
Guarantee cannot be given in the case of incorrect
usage.
The oil temperature must be in the range +25 to
+35 °C.
The guarantee does not apply if the screws on the
housing have been opened.

Function test
The testo 260 is usually prepared for the
measurement (see "Preparing for measurement"
Section). A half measuring spoon full of water is added
to the bag instead of cooking oil. With this amount of
water the lamp switches from "OK" (green) to "USED".
The lamp remains at red. If the lamp does not change
to red with this amount of water, the instrument has to
be checked and incorrect measurements could occur.

Preparing for measurement
Stretch a fresh, empty plastic bag over the clean, dry
bag holder. Place funnel in the bag holder opening.
Push the bag holder with the broad side first between
the open housing halves until the green "OK" lamp
lights up. Fill the measuring spoon with cooking oil
until the oil (+25 to +35 °C) is visible at the top of the
instrument (minimum 4 filled measuring spoons). A

Flashing alternately between red and green means
that the cooking oil is old. Additional polar components
contaminate the oil further. If red (USED) lights up, the
limit value has been exceeded. The oil has to be
changed immediately.
