Operating conditions
• The appliance must be positioned in a dry covered
location where the temperature is between 0°C and
+30°C and the relative humidity is no greater than
80%.
• The temperature of air entering the appliance must
not exceed + 40°C.
• The appliance was not designed to work in
explosive atmospheres or where there are fumes
containing chemicals, dust, soot or oily substances.
• Electrical connections box protection rating: IP40.
• Install an air filter upstream from the air heater to
prevent inflammable dust particles from sticking to
the heating elements.
• The appliance must be wired in such a way that it
cannot run if the airflow in the ducting system is not
travelling at a speed of at least2m/s. We
recommend that the heater ON/OFF switch is wired
in series to a flow switch or to a differential pressure
switch in the air ducting.
• IMPORTANTE: l'accensione del riscaldatore deve

• To extend the heater's life span, we recommend
that you let the air continue to circulate for at least
30 seconds after turning OFF the heater. The heater
has been designed for a maximum temperature of
50°C.
• The heater must be adjusted by means of external
components (e.g. thermostat or TRIAC system). The
TRIAC system provides a high degree of efficiency
in maintaining temperatures.
Installation
• Always install the air heater in the ventilation system
downstream from the fan and at a distance of at
least one metre from it.
• The noise filter and/or air filter must be fitted at a
distance from the air heater equivalent to at least
twice the diameter of the duct.
• The air heater must be in contact with walls of the
duct through the full 360°.
• If you have to install the air heater at the end of a
duct, cover the duct outlet with a suitable safety
grille.
• The air heater must be securely fixed to the duct so
that it cannot fall.
• The air heater must be insulated with non-
inflammable material as required by the safety
standards of the country where it is installed.
• The cover of the electrical connections box must be
easily accessible in order to reset the safety
thermostat. (RESET).
• To optimise use of the heating elements, controllers
may be used to match thermal power to the room's
temperature requirements.
• The direction of air flow is not important.
• The air heater must be installed so that it functions
in conjunction with a fan and is only switched on
when the fan is functioning.
• Only non-inflammable materials can be kept less
than 100 mm from the appliance. The safe distance
for flammable materials in front of appliance outlets
is 500 mm. In other directions, the safe distance for
flammable materials is 100 mm.
• If the heater has been installed at the end of a duct,
every possible contact with very hot components
must be avoided (e.g. grilles or the duct itself)
• IMPORTANT: The appliance must be installed so
that the fan directs the airflow over the motor so as
to prevent over-heating. Air can pass through the
heater in either direction.
Protection against over-heating
The appliance comes fitted with protection against
over-heating: the heater coils are deactivated if the
heater temperature limits exceed the thermostat
settings. The safety thermostat with automatic reset
(+50°C) and the emergency thermostat with manual
reset (+120°C) are set so that if one of them cuts in,
the heater coils are deactivated. Both thermostats are
connected in series with the appliance command
circuit.
WARNING: if the emergency manual reset thermostat
cuts in, the cause of the over-heating has to be
identified and corrected. Once the cause has been
dealt with, the thermostat has to be manually reset. If
the emergency thermostat continually cuts in, contact
a Vortice Service Centre.
