USE AS A SANDWICH MAKER
Wait until the plates are at the right temperature. Place a slice of bread on the lower plate, then the filling,
then another slice of bread. Close the appliance. The toasted sandwich will be ready after about 3 minutes.
You should use a wooden or plastic spatula to remove the toasted sandwich in order to avoid damage to
the non-stick coating.
USE AS A GRILL
In order to grill, heat the appliance while closed as it will heat much faster like this. The cooking time
will depend on the chosen dish or ingredients. You can, of course, experiment with the cooking time to
get the best results.
Small pieces of meat, fish etc. will be cooked through faster than large pieces
Turn meat and fish once only in order to prevent them from drying out. For the same reason it is better to
use a spatula than to prick with a fork.
Use a wooden or plastic spatula on the frying plate. Do not use metal implements as these could damage
the non-stick coating.
CLEANING
ALWAYS UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE BEFORE CLEANING.
Clean the appliance after each time that you use it. Allow the appliance to cool completely first. Clean the
outside with a damp cloth. The plates can be cleaned using soapy water. You must rinse them with tap
water afterwards. The non-stick coating should not be cleaned with sharp metal objects or aggressive
detergents. If the plates are very dirty they should be soaked in warm soapy water for half an hour.
After grilling it is frequently only necessary to wipe the plates with kitchen paper while the appliance is still warm.
DAMAGE TO THE PLATES CAUSED BY SHARP OBJECTS IS NOT COVERED BY THE GUARANTEE!

• Place the grill on a sturdy and stable surface that is also heat-resistant.
• When you use the appliance in the open position the table or kitchen surface will become very hot. For
that reason, never put the open appliance on an unprotected plastic surface.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
• The exterior of the appliance can become quite hot. Only pick up the appliance using the handle.
• Ensure that the appliance is not so close to the edge of a table, counter top, etc., that someone could
knock it over. Do not allow the lead to hang over the edge or on the floor, as someone may become
entangled or trip over it.
• DO NOT use the appliance if it is damaged or if the lead is damaged. Send it to our Service
Department in order to avoid a hazard. With this type of appliance, a damaged lead must only be
replaced by our service department using special tools.
• Do not place the appliance on or directly adjacent to a warm hotplate or other source of heat.
• Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or if any fault develops.
• The plates become very hot; make sure that children do not come near it, and be careful yourself as well.
• Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or scourers.
• Only use the appliance according to the instructions.
• Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.
• Keep the lead away from the plates.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• The use of this appliance by children or persons with a physical, sensory, mental or
motorial disability, or lack of experience and knowledge can give cause to hazards.
Persons responsible for their safety should give explicit instructions or supervise the use
of the appliance.
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.
• This product is no on/off switch and operates when plugged into the main supply source,
disconnect the plug from mains after use.
• This product is considered as "inappropriate for intended use" based on the EC regula-
tion 1275/2008 ecodesign requirements of standby and off mode requirements.
