Check the engine oil and hydraulic oil levels to make sure
they are at the proper operating range .
Check the engine to make sure it has enough fuel .
For additional information concerning the engine oil
recommendations and engine starting instructions,
please see engine owner's manual for further
information .
Block wheels by placing wheel chocks on both sides of
the wheel to keep the log splitter stable while in use .
Check for loose hose connections, nuts and bolts and
other fasteners prior to use .
Operating Instructions
Make sure the beam rails and debris slots are free of
wood chips and debris . This should be cleaned as needed
during splitting operation .
WARNING: See safety information related to general

manual. Make sure that you have the recommended
personal protective equipment described previously.
CAUTION: For operation in wooded areas, obtain a
spark arrester for the exhaust system, see the engine
operating and maintenance manual and check with
your authorized engine service center. See Fire
Prevention on page 10 of this manual.
