SUSPENDED
If the Nemesis Quattro is to be suspended, suspension eyes are supplied
to enable this to be done. For safety reasons PestWest recommend
that when suspended each of the hanging chains (which are not
supplied) should be of non-corroding material and capable of taking
25kg each. Only welded link chains should be used in corrosive/damp
environments. For ease of service and re-hanging it is recommended
that the chain be fitted with a spring release clip at the end connected
to the fly killer, ensuring that they are also capable of supporting 25kg
each.
WALL MOUNTING
Using the backplate provided mark off the 2 fixing points on to the
mounting surface. Drill 6mm holes to a depth of 35mm. Using the
rawl plugs and screws supplied, fasten the backplate to the mounting
surface. The fly killer simply hooks over the backplate via the rear guard.
Ensure the wall is adequate for the type of fixing supplied for
plasterboard use the appropriate fixings.
CLEANING AND MAINTAINANCE
Apart from the tube replacement, the only maintenance is to keep the
unit clean. Always disconnect from the power supply before handling
the unit. Empty any dead insects from the catch tray and remove any
which may have fallen into the bottom of the unit.
Clean the unit with a mild detergent a minimum of twice per year.
TUBE REPLACEMENT
To maintain maximum efficiency fit PestWest Quantum ultra violet
tubes as replacements. Insects are attracted to the unit by the UV light,
emitted by the tubes. This light which is invisible to human eyes, reduces
with time, even though to us the tube does not appear to change. To
maintain efficiency, we recommend annual tube replacement. Using fly
control products which are fitted with PestWest Quantum BL shatter-
proof tubes as standard or as replacements provides the easiest and
safest solution for significantly reducing the risk of contamination from
broken glass.
To remove the tube, disconnect the power supply. Withdraw the catch
tray forward and out of the unit. Pull the guard forward from the bottom
allowing it to swing upwards then secure in the open position using the
stay provided. Twist each tube through 90° and withdraw from the tube
holders. To install new tubes reverse the above procedure.
Replace the tube only with the correct type, for example do not use
germicidal tubes because they operate at a different wavelength which
is hazardous to skin and eyes. The correct tube is PestWest Quantum BL
rated 14 watt each UVA tube.
NEMESIS QUATTRO IP (SPLASh-PROOF vERSION)
To remove the tube, disconnect the power supply. Withdraw the catch
tray forward and out of the unit. Pull the guard forward from the bottom
allowing it to swing upwards then secure in the open position using
the stay provided. The tubes are fitted with watertight sealing rings
at each end these should be unscrewed fully and moved towards the
centre of the tube to allow it to be removed from the lampholders. With
the sealing rings in the centre of the tube pull the tube towards you to
extract it from the lampholder and repeat the process until all four tubes
have been removed. Fit new tubes one by one remember to fit the
sealing rings and screw them up tight.
CLEANING ThE KILLING GRID
To clean the killing grid remove the catch tray and open the guard
supporting the guard with the stay provided. Place the catch tray back
in the bottom of the unit and remove the tubes. Brush any fly debris
off the grid in to the catch tray. The killing grid can be removed for
additional cleaning by lifting the bottom out of the retaining points at
the bottom of the unit then pulling it free from the unit. The grid can be
soaked in mild detergent for extra cleaning and removing stains. Ensure
that the grid is completely dry before refitting. Do not bend or separate
the two grid halves as you will find it very difficult to re-assemble them.
Wipe the body of the unit with a cloth dampened with mild detergent
or methylated spirit. Do not use abrasive pads or steel wool. Re-
assemble the unit in reverse order ensuring the grid is re-inserted into
the spring loaded connectors.
SAFETY
PestWest EFK units have been designed to the highest European
standards and are manufactured from quality materials. All European
models have been tested and certified for compliance with the safety
standard EN60335-59-2. This standard is specifically for electrocuting
flying insect control equipment.
COvERAGE
In general terms, the brighter the surrounding light the larger the light
output necessary from the EFK and the greater the number of units
required for a given area. For average indoor lighting conditions, the
following guidelines have been found successful.
Suspended mode 480m²
Wall-mounted model 240m²
Coverage is greater when suspended as the unit will attract insects from
all angles, when wall mounted the area of coverage will be reduced.
GUARANTEE
All PestWest units are supplied with 3 year guarantee (excluding tubes).
