Using
Two kinds of use are possible, with or without water tank:
§ With water for soft cooking; in that case, fill the water tank up to the arrow showing the
maximum level. Then, put it in its place.
§ Without water for an intensive cooking; this use involves a close supervision of the cooking not
to burn foods. To make easier the cleaning, it is possible to lay down on the bottom of the tank
an aluminium foil to recover the fat of cooking.
When cooking for a prolonged period, it is possible that some of the water may evaporate and the
level drop down below the lower level marked. In this case it is possible to add some water by
pouring it slowly through the grid, taking care not to splash other parts of the appliance. When doing
this, the appliance's power supply cord MUST be unplugged temporarily.
Adjust the cooking temperature using the knob according to the section of Cooking.
Some smoke may be given off when the appliance is heated for the first time.
Use some oil on kitchen paper to grease the cooking grid lightly before putting on the food to cook.
During cooking, take care not to touch the edges of the appliance.
The appliance remains very hot for about 30 minutes after being switched off.
The appliance can be used with or without the stainless steel shield screen. This screen will make the
griddle easier to remove, will protect against fat splashes and will be used as a windbreaker.
You can remove the stainless steel shield screen when cooking brochettes.
Cooking
You can use the grill to cook all types of foods suitable for grilling: meat, fish, vegetables etc.
The cooking times depend on individual taste and the kind of food.
Turn the food over for even cooking.
To make your meat more tasty or avoiding it becoming too dry when cooked, you can marinate it for
a few hours prior to the meal or pour over a little lemon juice or olive oil while cooking.
To cook delicate or thin food, we advise you to put water in the tank.
To cook food which needs to be grilled strongly, prefer a use without water.
In every case, when grilling food, set the appliance to maximum, mark 8; the orange indicator lamp
remains lit during throughout the time taken for cooking.
The other settings are intended more to keep the cooked food hot.
To go with your grill
Salads and sauces: tomato sauce, ketchup, mayonnaise, Béarnaise, Burgundy or tartar sauce, pepper
or shallot sauce, will all be good to accompany your food.
