INSTRUCTIONS FOR
INSTALLATION AND USE
The Systemair air curtain is designed for fixed
mounting on the wall above entry doors, warehouse
doors etc. Because of its low height and the inlet
grille located on the front, the air curtain can even
be mounted where there is little room between the
top of the door and the ceiling. The air curtain is
approved for recessing into false ceilings. For best
results the air curtain should cover the whole width
of the doorway, by mounting more units side by
side. Low internal pressure, crosswinds, or strong
draughts may affect the efficiency of the air curtain.
A mounting height in excess of 3 metres is not
recommended. Enclosure class: IP 21 (drop
protected design).
MOUNTING
For details of dimensions and mounting distances,
please refer to the drawings. The air curtain may
only be mounted horizontal, with the outlet grille
facing downwards. The air curtain may be mounted
in direct contact with the ceiling.
Mounting on wall or beam.
1.
The air curtain is mounted on the wall using the
2 keyholes (4 for LG XL) cut-outs at the rear.
Suitable size screws are M6. NOTE! Where
keyhole mounting is used, the air curtain must
be secured using the two securing brackets that
are supplied. These should be mounted
upwards as shown on the illustration.
2.
There are 4 M6 studs (8 for LG XL) located on
the rear for mounting the air curtain to a beam
or similar.
Mounting in ceiling
There are four threaded inserts (M6) on top of the
air curtain that can be used for pendulum mounting.
See sketch. The pendulum kit can be ordered
separately.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
Installation must be carried out by an authorized
electrician. There should be an all-pole switch on
the mains supply. On the top of the curtain there are
6 Knock-outs (7 for LG XL) size 29 mm for supply
and control cables. The input terminal is intended
2
for max 16 mm
cable, and the control terminal for
2
max 6 mm
.
The air curtain is wired 400V 3N~ upon delivery.
Terminals for connection to 230V 3~ are placed
inside the left gable of the air curtain (LG8, LG12).
Wires for this are enclosed.
The control cables supply voltage (terminal block P
and N) must always be 230V~.
LG0, LG0L, LG0XL:
If the air curtain is required without external control,
a connection between terminal block 1 and 3 makes
the impeller go full speed.
CONTROL PANEL (ORDERED
SEPARATELY)
A single control panel may control up to four air
curtains. There are two models available from
Systemair, one for external control and one for
mounting into the unit. The latter is installed in this
way:
1.
Remove the intake grille, filter and the cover
plate from the connection compartment.
2.
Remove the right hand endplate from the air
curtain.
3.
Remove the cover from the underside of the air
curtain at the right hand edge.
4.
Connect the supplied leads to the terminal
block on the panel, see wiring diagram.
Install the panel in the curtain.
5.
Connect the leads to the air curtain terminal
block, see wiring diagram.
OPERATION
The control panel has two switches with a neutral
position. The first (at terminal 21-24, for the build-in,
panel and 4-5 for the external) regulates the airflow;
full or reduced flow. When in position 0 the
connected air curtain(s) is/are switched off (both fan
and heating).
The second switch is only used for the electric
heated units and controls the heating in two stages;
half or full power.
OVERHEATING
The air curtain is provided with a temperature
limiter. If triggered due to overheating it can be reset
as follows:
1.
Isolate the air curtain by using the all-pole
switch.
2.
Determine the cause and correct the fault.
3.
Set the temperature limiter by pressing the red
button which is accessible through the exhaust
grille (the right hand side).
4.
The motor is also provided with at thermal
protection built-in. This resets itself when the
motor has cooled off.
CLEANING
The intake grille and the heating elements should be
cleaned regularly to maintain good performance.
Switch off the power. Wipe the grille with a damp
cloth. Dismantle the front panel to vacuum the
heating elements.
