Sander will not start.

Probable Cause
Disconnected from power source.
Incorrect voltage.
Switch is not activating.
Motor is faulty.
Platen is shifted or worn.
Belt is stretched unevenly.
Drum is worn.
Improper bond.
Abrasive belt tension is inadequate.
Excessive pressure.
Drive belt is loose.
Drive belt is loose.
Disc shaft key is missing.
Using too much pressure when
sanding.
Not using full width of belt.
Index pin is stuck.
Broken spring.
Remedy
Check connection to source.
Make sure power source matches
voltage of sander, as shown on motor
name plate.
Repair or replace switch.
Repair or replace motor.
Raise platen to 1/32" beyond the apex
of the drum. See page 15.
Replace belt.
Replace drum.
Clean adhesive off aluminum disc,
then re-apply adhesive and re-mount
abrasive disc.
Tighten abrasive belt (page 11).
Reduce pressure against belt.
Properly tension drive belt (page 10).
Properly tension drive belt (page 10).
Replace key.
Reduce pressure against belt.
Stroke across full width of belt to
disperse wear.
Remove arm and free index pin.
Remove arm and replace spring.
