5.1

Charging the battery

1. Before charging the battery, read the operating instructions for the charger.
2. Make sure that the contacts on the battery and the contacts on the charger are clean and dry.
3. Use an approved charger to charge the battery.
5.2

Inserting the battery

CAUTION
Risk of injury by short circuit or falling battery!
▶ Before inserting the battery, make sure that the contacts on the battery and the contacts on the product
are free of foreign matter.
▶ Make sure that the battery always engages correctly.
1. Charge the battery fully before using it for the first time.
2. Push the battery into the battery holder until it engages with an audible click.
3. Check that the battery is seated securely.

Removing the battery

1. Press the battery release buttons.
2. Remove the battery from the tool.

Installing the tool
1. Press and hold down the spindle lock button.
2. With the keyway correctly aligned, slip the tool on to the tool holder.
3. Press the tool firmly on to the tool holder against the action of the spring and turn the tool clockwise.
➥ The tool holder is locked.
Narrow accessory tools less than 100 mm in width need spacer rings to make up the difference in
width.
4. Release the spindle lockbutton.

6. Perform a test run. Run the satin finisher for 30 seconds without load and check for vibration and
imbalance.
➥ If vibration or imbalance is perceptible, remove the tool and reinstall it correctly. Make sure it is
correctly seated. Do not use damaged tools or spacer rings.

Pneumatic rubber roller
1. If necessary,deflate the pneumatic rubber roller by opening the valve. Use the back of the valve dustcap
for this purpose.
2. If applicable, ease the abrasive belt off the pneumatic rubber roller.
3. Slip a new abrasive belt on to the pneumatic rubber roller. Make sure that the abrasive belt does not
project on either side.
4. Tension the abrasive belt by inflating the pneumatic rubber roller with the air pump provided for the
purpose. Then screw the valve dustcap back on to the valve.
5.6
Adjusting the guard and grip
Always adjust the guard to a position at which the material removed by grinding is directed away from
you.
1. Open the clamping lever for adjusting the grip and the guard.
2. Turn the grip and the guard to the desired position.
3. Close the clamping lever.
