check that the handles and machine guards are clean and
dry, correctly assembled and firmly secured to the
machine;
-
check that the cutting devices and guards are not
damaged;
-
check that the machine has no signs of wear or damage
due to impact or other causes, and make the necessary
repairs;
-
check that the battery is in good conditions and that there
are no signs of damage. Do not use the machine with a
damaged or worn battery;
-
charge the battery following the instructions given in the
chapter "Charging the battery".
NOTE - The figures mentioned in the text are on page 3
onwards in this manual.
5.2 CHECKING THE STATUS OF THE BATTERY (Fig.1)
To check the battery (A) charge status, press button (B) which
activates 4 LEDs (C) which mean the following:
4 LED lights on = Duration = 4/4
3 LED lights on = Duration = 3/4
2 LED lights on = Duration >= 2/4
1 LED light on = Duration =< 1/4
1 Flashing LED light = battery is flat
4 Flashing LED lights = overheating
5.3 CHARGING THE BATTERY (Fig.2)
CAUTION: Make sure that the mains voltage of the power
outlet corresponds to that indicated on the battery charger
label.
To remove the battery (A) from the machine, press the two
buttons (B) and slide the battery out (A).
To recharge battery:
-
connect the battery charger (C) to a power outlet; the
presence of voltage is indicated by the red warning light
(D) switching on.
-
insert the battery (A) into its housing in the battery charger
(C), pushing all the way. Recharging a completely flat
battery requires approx. 113 minutes (2.5 Ah) and 225
minutes (5 Ah).
The recharging stages are indicated by the warning light (D):
-
connected battery charger = red warning light on.
-
battery inserted and recharging in progress = green
warning light flashing.
-
battery recharging completed = green warning light on.
-
short circuit = red warning light flashing quickly
-
overheating = red warning light flashing slowly
Recharging complete:
-
remove the battery (A) from the battery charger (C) and
refit it on the machine;
-
disconnect the battery charger (C) from the power outlet.

6. USING THE MACHINE

6.1 STARTING UP THE MACHINE (Fig.3)
Before starting up the machine, insert the battery (A) into its
housing.
To start up the machine:
-
Firmly grip the machine with both hands.
-
Press the safety lever (D) and operate the switch (C).
6.2 STOPPING THE MACHINE (Fig.3)
To stop the machine:
-
Release the switch (C) or the safety lever (D).
-
Press the two buttons (B) to slide the battery out (A).
7. MODES OF OPERATION AND WORKING
TECHNIQUES
WARNING! For your safety and the safety of others:
1) Do not use the machine before carefully reading the
instructions. Become familiar with the controls and the
correct use of the machine. Learn how to quickly stop
the motor.
2) Residual risks – Despite complying with all safety
requirements, some additional risks may still persist:
Contact with unprotected cutting teeth;
-
-
Getting fingers or hands engaged in the moving
cutter blade;
-
Unexpected and sudden movements of the cutter
blade;
Ejected fragments that may damage the eyes.
-
3) Remember that the operator or user is responsible for
accidents and unforeseen events that may occur to
other people or their property.
4) Wear appropriate clothing while working. Your dealer
can give you information on the most appropriate
accident prevention material to ensure workplace
safety.
5) Only work in daylight or with a good source of artificial
light.
6) Thoroughly inspect the entire work area and remove
anything that could be thrown by the machine or
damage the cutting device (branches, wires, hidden
cables, etc.).
7) Pay attention to the possible ejection of material by
the cutting device.
8) Stop the motor and remove the battery from its
housing:
if the machine starts to vibrate abnormally: in this
-
case, immediately look for the cause of the
vibration and make the necessary checks at an
Authorized Service Center;
-
each time the machine is left unattended;
before checking, cleaning, or working on the
-
machine;
after hitting a foreign object. Check for any
-
damages and make the necessary repairs before
using the machine again;
when the machine is not in use.
-
9) Always keep hands and feet away from the cutting
device, especially when starting up the motor.
