Never leave the machine unattended with the power supply "on".
• Always set tree trunks firmly on the log retaining plates and work table. Make
sure tree trunks will not twisk, rock or slip while being cut. Do not force the
machine, this will brake the blade or damage the machine.
• Keep hands and feet away from moving parts and do not hold the log with
your hand during the cutting stroke.
• Do not use the machine if damaged, any suspect parts are noted or it has
been subjected to a shock load.
• If the log cutter needs repairing and/or there are any parts which need to be
replaced, have it repaired by authorized technicians and only use the
replacement parts supplied by the manufacturer.
• WARNING: the warnings, cautions and instructions discussed in this
instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that
may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and
caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be
supplied by the operator.
• Only those persons who are aware of how to use the log splitter, by having read
this manual, should use the splitter. Injudicious use may cause danger.

4. SET UP FOR OPERATION

Unpack the machine and check if all the parts are present (see page 20). Then
assemble the machine according to the pictures 1 untill 5 on page 21.
WARNING! Ensure that you read, understand and apply the safety
instructions and warnings before use.

5. MAINTENANCE

To prolong the life of the Ergofix log cutter, we advise you to consider the
following maintenance prescriptions, so that the cutter will carry out heavy jobs for
years to come. Make sure the log cutter is unplugged, before carrying out any
maintenance jobs.
1. Do not leave the apparatus outdoor and prevent rain and snow to affect your
machine.
2. When not in use, store the log cutter in a dry location under ambient
temperatures between -25ºC and +55ºC and a surrounding humidity of less
than 80%.
3. Clean the outside of the machine with dry, clean and soft cloth and
periodically lubricate all moving parts with a light oil as needed.
4. Check the power cables regularly and if damaged, replace the cables at
once.
5. Before each use check all parts. If any part of the machine is damaged or
suspect, remove the machine from service and take necessary action to
repair.
6. Check regularly if the blade is sharp enough. Grind the blade if necessary.
