3.0 Batteries

The MLS635 is supplied and configured for use with a
2 LR6 (AA) dry cells. A 12V DC charger (See
Optional Accessories) can be used as a dual power
source; this will not apply a charge to the dry cells
while fitted. Alternatively, within the battery
compartment there is a switch to change the battery
type from alkaline to NiCd/NiMh If the DC charge is
now connected to the instrument with rechargeable
batteries in it (the switch is set to NiCd/NiMh) then the
batteries will start to recharge. Allow 14-16 hours to
full charge a rechargeable battery.
Do NOT attempt to recharge alkaline cells,
overheating would occur and the instrument may be
damaged.
When the switch is set to NiCd/NiMH, only fit
rechargeable cells.
