Troubleshooting
If a trouble condition is present on the system, the Trouble light
the system beeps ten times. Troubles can be viewed directly from the iotega
integrated keypad.
View trouble details by pressing [*] 2 on the iotega keypad. The Trouble key
flashes if an access code is needed (required for UL installations).
The iotega displays up to three layers of trouble information. See Table 1-1 for
trouble indications.
The Trouble light flashes once to indicate first layer trouble codes. Two or three
flashes indicate second and third layer codes.
When viewing first layer troubles, one or more numbers are displayed to
indicate trouble types. Press an illuminated number to view available second
layer details.
Press an illuminated number again to view available third layer trouble details. In
the third layer trouble display, a number flashes for each zone or device
experiencing a trouble condition.
The system beeps if no further trouble layers are available.
Press # to return to the previous layer or to exit the Trouble menu.
Example A tamper trouble on zone 5 is shown as follows:
After pressing [*] 2, the number 2 lights up, indicating a zone trouble (see Table
1-1 below). Pressing 2 displays the second trouble layer. The number 3 lights
up, signifying a tamper trouble. Pressing 3 displays the third layer, where the
number 5 is lit. This indicates that the sensor on zone 5 has a tamper condition.

Digital Security Controls warrants the original purchaser thatfor a period oftwelve months from the date ofpurchase,the productshall be free
ofdefects in materials and workmanship under normal use.During the warranty period,Digital Security Controls shall,atits option,repair or
replace any defective productupon return ofthe productto its factory,atno charge for labour and materials.Any replacement and/or repaired
parts are warranted for the remainder ofthe original warranty or ninety (90) days,whichever is longer.The original purchaser mustpromptly
notify Digital Security Controls in writing thatthere is defectin material or workmanship, such written notice to be received in all events prior to
expiration ofthe warranty period.There is absolutely no warranty on software and all software products are sold as a user license under the
terms ofthe software license agreement included with the product.The Customer assumes all responsibility for the proper selection,
installation, operation and maintenance ofany products purchased from DSC.Custom products are only warranted to the extentthatthey do
notfunction upon delivery.In such cases,DSC can replace or creditatits option
International Warranty
The warrantyfor internationalcustomersisthe same asfor anycustomer within Canada and the United States,

with the exception that DigitalSecurityControlsshallnot be responsible for anycustomsfees, taxes, or VAT that
maybe due.
Warranty Procedure
To obtain service under thiswarranty, please return the item(s) in question to the point of purchase. All
authorized distributorsand dealershave a warrantyprogram. Anyone returning goodsto DigitalSecurity
Controlsmust first obtain an authorization number. DigitalSecurityControlswillnot accept anyshipment
whatsoever for which prior authorization hasnot been obtained.
Conditions to Void Warranty
Thiswarrantyappliesonlyto defectsin partsand workmanship relating to normaluse. It doesnot cover:
- damage incurred in shipping or handling;

- damage caused bydisaster such asfire, flood, wind, earthquake or lightning;

- damage due to causesbeyond the controlof DigitalSecurityControlssuch asexcessive voltage, mechanical
shockor water damage;

- damage caused byunauthorized attachment, alterations, modificationsor foreign objects;

- damage caused byperipherals(unlesssuch peripheralswere supplied byDigitalSecurityControlsLtd.);
- defectscaused byfailure to provide a suitable installation environment for the products;

- damage caused byuse of the productsfor purposesother than those for which it wasdesigned;

- damage from improper maintenance;
- damage arising out of anyother abuse, mishandling or improper application of the products.

Items Not Covered by Warranty

In addition to the itemswhich void the Warranty, the following itemsshallnot be covered byWarranty: (i) freight

cost to the repair centre; (ii) productswhich are not identified with DSC'sproduct labeland lot number or serial
number; (iii) productsdisassembled or repaired in such a manner asto adverselyaffect performance or prevent
adequate inspection or testing to verifyanywarrantyclaim. Accesscardsor tagsreturned for replacement under

warrantywillbe credited or replaced at DSC'soption. Productsnot covered bythiswarranty, or otherwise out of
warrantydue to age, misuse, or damage shallbe evaluated, and a repair estimate shallbe provided. No repair

Authorization number (RMA) isissued byDSC'sCustomer Service.
DigitalSecurityControlsLtd.'sliabilityfor failure to repair the product under thiswarrantyafter a reasonable
number of attemptswillbe limited to a replacement of the product, asthe exclusive remedyfor breach of
warranty. Under no circumstancesshallDigitalSecurityControlsbe liable for anyspecial, incidental, or
consequentialdamagesbased upon breach of warranty, breach of contract, negligence, strict liability, or any
other legaltheory. Such damagesinclude, but are not limited to, lossof profits, lossof the product or any
associated equipment, cost of capital, cost of substitute or replacement equipment, facilitiesor services, down
time, purchaser'stime, the claimsof third parties, including customers, and injuryto property. The lawsof some
jurisdictionslimit or do not allow the disclaimer of consequentialdamages. If the lawsof such a jurisdiction apply
to anyclaim byor against DSC, the limitationsand disclaimerscontained here shallbe to the greatest extent
permitted bylaw. Some statesdo not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidentalor consequentialdamages,
so that the above maynot applyto you.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Thiswarrantycontainsthe entire warrantyand shallbe in lieu of anyand allother warranties, whether expressed
or implied (including allimplied warrantiesof merchantabilityor fitnessfor a particular purpose) and of allother
obligationsor liabilitieson the part of DigitalSecurityControls. DigitalSecurityControlsneither assumes
responsibilityfor, nor authorizesanyother person purporting to act on itsbehalf to modifyor to change this
warranty, nor to assume for it anyother warrantyor liabilityconcerning thisproduct. Thisdisclaimer of warranties
and limited warrantyare governed bythe lawsof the province of Ontario, Canada.
WARNING: DigitalSecurityControlsrecommendsthat the entire system be completelytested on a regular
basis. However, despite frequent testing, and due to, but not limited to, criminaltampering or electrical
disruption, it ispossible for thisproduct to failto perform asexpected.
Out of Warranty Repairs
DigitalSecurityControlswillat itsoption repair or replace out-of-warrantyproductswhich are returned to its
factoryaccording to the following conditions. Anyone returning goodsto DigitalSecurityControlsmust first
obtain an authorization number. DigitalSecurityControlswillnot accept anyshipment whatsoever for which
prior authorization hasnot been obtained.
Productswhich DigitalSecurityControlsdeterminesto be repairable willbe repaired and returned. Aset fee
which DigitalSecurityControlshaspredetermined and which maybe revised from time to time, willbe charged
for each unit repaired.
Productswhich DigitalSecurityControlsdeterminesnot to be repairable willbe replaced bythe nearest
equivalent product available at that time. The current market price of the replacement product willbe charged
for each replacement unit.
IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY:
DSC Software purchased with or without Productsand Componentsiscopyrighted and ispurchased under the
following license terms:
- ThisEnd-User License Agreement ("EULA") isa legalagreement between You (the company, individualor
entitywho acquired the Software and anyrelated Hardware) and DigitalSecurityControls, a division of Tyco
SafetyProductsCanada Ltd. ("DSC"), the manufacturer of the integrated securitysystemsand the developer
of the software and anyrelated productsor components("HARDWARE") which You acquired.
- If the DSC software product ("SOFTWAREPRODUCT" or "SOFTWARE") isintended to be accompanied by
HARDWARE, and isNOT accompanied bynew HARDWARE, You maynot use, copyor installthe SOFTWARE
PRODUCT. The SOFTWAREPRODUCT includescomputer software, and mayinclude associated media,
printed materials, and "online" or electronicdocumentation.
Anysoftware provided along with the SOFTWAREPRODUCT that isassociated with a separate end-user
license agreement islicensed to You under the termsof that license agreement.
- Byinstalling, copying, downloading, storing, accessing or otherwise using the SOFTWAREPRODUCT, You
agree unconditionallyto be bound bythe termsof thisEULA, even if thisEULAisdeemed to be a modification of
anypreviousarrangement or contract. If You do not agree to the termsof thisEULA, DSC isunwilling to license
the SOFTWAREPRODUCT to You, and You have no right to use it.
Sortware Product License
The SOFTWAREPRODUCT isprotected bycopyright lawsand internationalcopyright treaties, aswellasother
intellectualpropertylawsand treaties. The SOFTWAREPRODUCT islicensed, not sold.
1. GRANT OF LICENSEThisEULAgrantsYou the following rights:
(a) Software Installation and Use - For each license You acquire, You mayhave onlyone copyof the Software
Product installed.
(b) Storage/NetworkUse - The SOFTWAREPRODUCT maynot be installed, accessed, displayed, run, shared
or used concurrentlyon or from different computers, including a workstation, terminalor other digitalelectronic
device ("Device"). In other words, if You have severalworkstations, You willhave to acquire a license for each
workstation where the SOFTWAREwillbe used.
(c) Backup Copy- You maymake back-up copiesof the SOFTWAREPRODUCT, but You mayonlyhave one
copyper license installed at anygiven time. You mayuse the back-up copysolelyfor archivalpurposes. Except as
expresslyprovided in thisEULA, You maynot otherwise make copiesof the SOFTWAREPRODUCT, including
the printed materialsaccompanying the SOFTWARE.
2. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTSAND LIMITATIONS
(a) Limitationson Reverse Engineering, Decompilation and Disassembly- You maynot reverse engineer,
decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWAREPRODUCT, except and onlyto the extent that such activityis
expresslypermitted byapplicable law notwithstanding thislimitation. You maynot make anychangesor
modificationsto the Software, without the written permission of an officer of DSC. You maynot remove any
proprietarynotices, marksor labelsfrom the Software Product. You shallinstitute reasonable measuresto
ensure compliance with the termsand conditionsof thisEULA.
(b) Separation of Components- The SOFTWAREPRODUCT islicensed asa single product. Itscomponent
partsmaynot be separated for use on more than one HARDWAREunit.
(c) Single INTEGRATED PRODUCT - If You acquired thisSOFTWAREwith HARDWARE, then the SOFTWARE
PRODUCT islicensed with the HARDWAREasa single integrated product. In thiscase, the SOFTWARE
PRODUCT mayonlybe used with the HARDWAREasset forth in thisEULA.
