SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the operating instructions carefully before you put the shredder into operation!
Do not touch the moving cutting mechanism - even from the top or with implement.
PLEASE MIND THE INDICATED DANGER ZONE!
No liability can be accepted for damage resulting from the incorrect operation or improper use of the machine or
from tampering with the safety devices.
Disconnect mains plug (15) before opening the machine!
PRELIMINARY WORK
• After removing the packaging, set the DAHLE Shredder up on a firm base. The unit is fitted with rollers to
facilitate transport.
• Unscrew the levelling feet (8), adjust the machine until it is horizontal and lock the feet by tightening the
locknuts (7). Push the waste bin (10), complete with plastic sack (11), into the unit from the front.
The shredder can only be operated if the waste bin (10) is inserted and if the front panel (9) and
the feeder flap (13) are closed.
Make sure that the voltage and the frequency of the mains supply comply with the data on the
rating plate! Wrong voltage can lead to destruction of the unit.
• Connect mains plug (15) to power supply (socket). The socket must be easily accessible.
DESCRIPTION
The DAHLE Shredders 20451 and 20452 conform to the requirements of Safety Class 2 (Safety Classes to DIN
32757: Disposal of Information Carrier Material), the DAHLE Shredder 20453 to those of Safety Class 3.
It overloaded, the units will be switched off by the motor protection switch. Switch (2) is actuated automatically.
The machine may be restarted after a brief period (cooling-off phase) by pressing the switch (2).
