CHAPTER 4 MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS. RECOMMENDATIONS.
In order for the equipment to have a long life
we must follow some essential rules for maintenance
and use. Abide by these recommendations.

4.1. MACHINE MAINTENANCE. GENERAL
RECOMMENDATIONS.
Before carrying out any operation on the
machine or clip, we must place switch A of the
equipment (Fig. 5) in "0" position of machine
disconnected.
Work
on
the
maintenance and repair operations must be done by
specialised personnel.
BLOW THE INSIDE OF THE MACHINE WITH
COMPRESSED AIR FROM TIME TO TIME
The accumulation on the inside of metal dust
is one of the main causes of breakdowns in this type
of equipment as they are subject to a great amount of
pollution. As an essential measure, the equipment
must be kept separate from the welding place,
placing it some distance away. Keeping the machine
clean and dry is essential. The inside must be blown
as required.
We must avoid any anomaly or
deterioration due to the accumulation of dust. Blow
the inside of the equipment with clean dry
compressed air. As a routine to guarantee the correct
operation of the equipment, after blowing
the equipment, make sure the electrical connection
are correctly tightened.

PLACE THE EQUIPMENT SOMEWHERE WHERE
CLEAN AIR IS RENEWED.
The machine ventilations must be kept free. It
must be located in a place where clean air is
renewed.
KEEP THE MACHINE PANELS CLOSED.
DO NOT DISCONNECT THE MACHINE IF IT IS
HOT.
If you have finished work do not disconnect the
machine immediately. Wait until the inside cooling
system has totally cooled it down.
MAINTAIN THE WELDING ACCESSORIES IN
GOOD CONDITIONS FOR USE
DO NOT EXCEED THE EQUIPMENT OPERATING
FACTOR
If you notice abnormal heating of the shell
stop the welding process.
THE ALTERNATING AND DIRECT CURRENT
OUTPUTS MUST NOT BE USED AT THE SAME
TIME.
WHEN FINISHING THE WELDING OPERATION
AVOID DIRECT CONTACT OF THE ELECTRODE-
HOLDER CLIP WITH THE WELDING GROUND
AND THE REST OF PARTS CONNECTED TO IT.
