UNDERSTANDING YOUR REMOTE CAPABLE ENERGIZER
A
How to Use Your Remote Control
Your Remote Control switches the Energizer ON or OFF from anywhere the fence is powered.
1.
For an All Live Wire system: push the earth stake into the ground (for an Earth Wire Return system: place the
earth stake on the earth wire). For reliable performance it is IMPORTANT to achieve a good earth.
2.
Place the brass terminal on the live fence wire.
3.
The Remote will indicate Energizer pulses by regular, short flashes of the LED.
4.
Push the button to switch the Energizer ON (Normal Operation) or OFF (Standby).
Your Remote LED gives a long flash (0.8 of a second) to indicate the signal has been transmitted.
Energizer Standby Mode
The Energizer indicates that it is in Standby mode by displaying a solid red light on the Power/Standby indicator.
IMPORTANT: When in Standby, mains power is still supplied to Energizer, but the fence is not live.
Remote Control Low Battery
A flat battery is indicated by the LED giving 5 quick flashes, either when the button is being pushed or the Remote
receives a fence pulse.
Remote Control Electrical Interference
The Energizer has four sensitivity settings at which the Energizer will detect the Remote Control signal. The more
sensitive the setting is, the greater the operating range of Remote Control. However, at the high sensitivity levels,
the Energizer will be more sensitive to detecting unwanted electrical signals (interference) from nearby electrical
equipment such as overhead power lines, military activity,
radio frequencies, water pumps, etc. When the Energizer
detects electrical interference the Power/Standby light
flashes red and the Energizer ignores the Remote Control
signal. In this event, reduce the sensitivity via the switches
on the back of the Energizer until the light stops flashing.
Remote Control Codes
The Energizer and Remote Control have four different
identity settings. In the event that your neighbour
has a Remote Control (as a result your neighbour can
unintentionally switch your Energizer in or out of Standby)
you can change the
code to another setting via the switches on the back of
the Energizer and inside the Remote Control. Note: the
Remote Control code and Energizer code must match in order for the
Remote Control to work.
Remote Control Disable
The Remote Control Disable option sets the Energizer to ignore all
Remote Control signals and will prevent the Energizer from switching into
Standby. This feature can be used when it is important that the fence
must not be accidentally switched into Standby. The Remote Control
Disable option is set via switch 4 on the back of the Energizer.
Full Power/Low Power
The Energizer has full power and low power options. Full power (the
default setting) is for general use. Low power is an option for very short
fences or to reduce fire risk in dry conditions.
