MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
•
Lift off the insert
as shown in Figure 1a or 1b. Apply pressure (A) on insert
during sliding (B) or turning (C).
•
Open the detector
&
(Fig. 2).
•
Break out one or both cable entry hole(s)
•
The detector should be mounted at a height of 7.3 to 10.0 ft (Fig. 10 & 11).
•
Select mounting holes for corner
•
Use the base as a template for marking screw hole locations on the wall.
•
Fasten the base to the wall.
•
Strip cable for 2.1 inch and pull it through the cable entry hole(s)
relief
(Fig. 3).
•
Wire detector as shown (Fig. 6).
•
Easier to wire by taking out the connection terminal (Fig. 3; detail A).
•
Optional spare terminal
.
•
Mounting hole for swivelbracket SB01
•
Place cover
in base
(Fig. 7), insert screw
(Fig. 1; a & b).
SITING THE DETECTOR (Fig. 4, 5 & 10)
Install the detector so that the expected movement of an intruder will be across
the fields of view. This is the direction best detected by PIR detectors.
Avoid possible false alarm sources such as:
*
Direct sunlight onto the detector.
*
Heat sources in a field of view (heaters, radiators, etc.).
*
Strong air draughts onto the detector (fans, air-conditioning etc.).
*
Large animals (dogs, over 44 lbs) in a field of view.
GE Interlogix recommends that the detector is regularly (at least once per
year) walk tested and checked back at the control panel.
AP100PI (Fig. 10)
This detector is designed to be immune up to certain size of pets.
Pets up to 44 lbs normally will not cause any problems in standard applications.
Advised minimum mounting height in PI-application: 7.3 ft.
Larger pets can be allowed for by alternative mounting PI-detector upside down
at 3 ft from floor.
Pet immunity not verified by Underwriters Laboratories.
LED FUNCTION AND REMOTE CONTROL OF LED (Fig. 6)
To walk test the detector make sure the wire jumper (from terminal 1 to 7) is on
the connector, or terminal 7 is remotely connected to system ground.
PROGRAMMING THE SENSITIVITY (PROCESS MODE) (Fig. 7)
Sensitivity is programmed according to the position of jumper J1.
STD. STANDARD SENSITIVITY: Suitable for most wide-angle applications
and for single curtain pattern.
Bi-C. BI-CURTAIN MODE: In this setting an extra level of processing is applied
to provide enhanced stability in the presence of false alarm hazards in smaller
areas.
Not suitable for single curtain applications or a range less than 5 ft (Fig. 10) and
at high risks.
Note: Bi-Curtain is used to reduce the possibility of false alarms. It looks for
signal verification and requires the intruder to be seen in two curtains for an
alarm.
Not to be used in undercrawl and long range application.
ADJUSTING THE RANGE (Fig. 7)
Adjust the range with jumper J2 for 20 or 33 ft.
It is important to adjust the sensor correctly for optimum sensitivity.
Range reduction will reduce PIR-sensitivity in the undercrawl area !
as required (Fig. 2 & 3).
or flat wall
mounting (Fig. 3).
and strain
(Fig. 3).
(Fig. 3) and place insert
PROCESS MODE
Set the mode at jumper J1.
STD (Standard).
Bi-C (Bi-Curtain).
Always select the apropriate range setting for the dimensions of the to be
protected area.
Verify coverage pattern and adjust if required.
When jumper J1 or J2 are not used in a "bridge" situation, the jumpers must be
mounted in the upper position.
If not they cause a problem when closing the detector (Fig. 7)
WINDOW MASK (Fig. 9)
The supplied mask can be fitted to the inside of the window as shown and is
used to mask objects which are in the presence or close to (within 5 ft) and
directly under the detector.
This disables the part of the curtains looking at the object, whose closeness
might otherwise destabilize the detector.
Remove this mask to create undercrawl detection.
