3.0 Installation Guidelines
3.1
Heating plan
The number of heaters needed and their positioning depends on the characteristics of the building and the desired
temperature. Ask your supplier or Gasolec for a heating plan.
Installation – See also page 8.
3.2
ATTENTION: Please take good note of the following!!
The heater should be installed horizontally. Chains to do this are included.
Never install the heater lower then 130cm from the bottom plate of the heater to the litter. Recommended is 140cm.
It is necessary to follow the national regulations for the connections to the gas and electricity supplies.
Sufficient fresh air in a room with heaters is crucial. It is possible to achieve a refreshment rate of 1.00 in a room with
natural ventilation by making 2 openings. Each opening should be at least 60 x B cm2 with B being the installed heating
capacity in kW/h. When using mechanical ventilation and assuming an even fresh air distribution, a ventilation capacity
of 1.5m3/kW/hour when using heaters on propane or 3.0m3/kW/hour when using heaters on natural gas is required.
3.3
Gas Connection
The connection of the heaters to the gas supply can only be done by nationally approved and certified technicians using
nationally approved and certified materials. See also 2. Technical data. Verify the gas pressure in the gas line to the
heater. To calibrate the gas pressure to the heater one should use a manometer for 0-60mBar. It is essential at all time to
adhere to the national rules as well as the guidelines of the energy supplier(s).
3.4
Conversion
Your local gas technician should do a conversion of a heater to an other gas type and / or gas pressure. A conversion kit
should be use to convert from natural gas to propane or vice versa.
3.5
Electricity supply (Only for the G12-Asco)
Adhere to the regulations of the local energy supplier at all times.
Supply options:
Control by thermostat:
G12-Asco for 24Vac
or 12Vdc
G12-Asco for
220-230Vac or
110Vac
4.0 Operation manual
4.1
Start up
First check the electricity supply of the heater, when applicable, and only then open the gas valve to the heater. Then
light the pilot flame. Push the start button, hold a flame next to the pilot burner, let the pilot flame burn for 10-15
seconds to heat the thermocouple tip and then let go. Then set the climate computer or thermostat to the desired level.
4.2.
Day to day maintenance
Good maintenance is quick, easy and essential for maximum safety and fuel efficiency. Dirty heaters and dirty dust
filters will reduce fuel efficiency and durability. One of the visible characteristics is the appearance of a wandering or
unattached flame under or around the heater. This indicates the need for a thorough cleaning. For this reason the filter
should be cleaned on a regular basis, and if necessary, depending on the litter, daily!
