Make sure all items listed in the Box Contents are included in the box.
2.
READ SAFETY INSTRUCTION BOOKLET BEFORE USING THE
PRODUCT.
3.
Switch everything on in the following order:
•
audio input sources (i.e. instruments, CD/MP3 Players)
•
MicTube Duo
•
speakers/amps
4.
When turning off, always reverse this operation:
•
speakers/amps
•

•
last, any input sources
CONTROLS
FRONT PANEL
1.
Power LED- Illuminated when the power is
turned on
2.
Output level LED- Displays the signal
output level
3.
+48V switch- Activates phantom power to
allow the use of most condenser mics
4.
Phase reverse switch- Reverses the audio
signal's phase by 180 degrees. Commonly
used when recording a single source with
two mics that are far apart or
different sources with one mic in a Figure-8
pattern
5.
-20dB pad- Attenuates the incoming signal level to provide increased "headroom"
6.
Inputs-
Balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4" inputs
7.
Gain control- Adjusts the input gain from +20dB to +65dB
8.
Drive control- Adjusts how hard the tube is driven, ranging from a natural, clean sound (good for vocals and electric bass)
to an overdriven tube effect (good for blues harmonica and guitars)

included 18v AC, 1000mA adaptor here

APPLICATIONS
The MicTube can be used in a variety of situations including:
•
Preamp- Boost the level of microphones, line level devices and add warmth to keyboards, mics, guitars, and turntables
•
Direct Inject Box (DI box)-
of Mic Tube, then use the MicTube's balanced output to send the signal to the next stage
•
Line level attenuator- Adjust the incoming signal level to convert between
input gain control by as much as 45dB
Quick Setup
1.
First make sure the MicTube is powered off. Then connect your instrument or microphone cables to the MicTube's XLR or
¼" inputs.
2.
Once cable connections have been made, power on the MicTube.
3.
Apply phantom power if your mic requires this.
4.
Slowly increase the Gain control knob on the MicTube, noting the output level LED to ensure levels do not clip.
5.
If you continually clip even after adjusting the gain, turn on the -20dB pad.
6.
Adjust the Drive knob to your liking.
Note: The Drive knob needs to be turned up slightly in order for any signal to pass through the MicTube.
Rackmounting
The MicTube can mount to a standard "universal" rack shelf, available from various rack manufacturers or your music dealer.
The MicTube conforms to single-space mounting, and up to two MicTube preamplifiers may be mounted side-by-side in a
standard universal EIA 19" equipment rack.
