TPH700 Ex - Installation Handbook
3.2.1.2
Other precautions / maintenance
E
The following additional precautions must be complied with:
N
• scrap
G
(see Section 3.2.6),
L
• batteries must not be short-circuited, opened, soldered or exposed to high temperatures
I
(above 55 °C / 131 °F), otherwise they may explode or catch fire, causing serious injury.

Usage recommendations
• As far as possible, try to completely discharge the battery before recharging. In
particular, avoid automatically charging the battery after short periods of use.
F
In all other cases, regularly completely discharge (until the radio turns off) and recharge
R
the BLN Ex-3 battery, outside of the explosive zone, to optimise its life cycle.
A
• The ambient temperature for the radio in use with a battery must be between -20 °C and
N
+55 °C. Despite this:
C
- between -20 °C and 0 °C, battery capacity is reduced. If the temperature rises once
A
again to between 0 °C and +55 °C, normal capacity will be recovered,
I
- repeated use at temperatures above +45 °C will reduce the life cycle of the battery.

P
A
Ñ
• The battery may be charged at an ambient temperature between 0 °C and 45 °C. The
O
battery is equipped with a temperature sensor for this purpose. The sensor will cut the
power if the temperature is out-of-tolerance.
L
• The
6 charge-discharge cycles after a period of storage or transport.
• We recommend recharging the battery installed in the TPH700 Ex terminal.
D
• Optimise settings to improve autonomy. In particular, disconnect the Bluetooth and
E
activate stand-by mode whenever possible.
U
• If a discharged battery remains for more than 2 days in a terminal that is switched off or
T
for a week outside the terminal without being recharged, a protection mode against
major discharge is activated automatically. In this case, the battery can only be
C
charged in the TPH700 Ex.
H
CAUTION: A battery in protection mode cannot be recharged alone on a charger; it must
be charged in the TPH700 Ex device.
