Efficient. Effective. Essential.
STORAGE
Environments containing corrosive substances, however slight, must be avoided, with relative humidity higher than 60%.
Avoid exposure to atmospheric agents.
Avoid long warehouse stock time, in presence of prolonged vibrations.
Avoid the fan from being subject to knocks, which could damage it.
4. INSTALLATION AND START-UP
INSTALLATION
WARNING: Installation by unqualified, untrained, uninformed personnel and without adequate safety devices is prohibited.
Provide adequate space to perform assembly operations, define and prohibit non-workers and animals. Consider an
area with the diameter of at least 1.5 times the fan diameter below the installation place.
Start by removing the fan from its packaging using lifting equipment suitable for the fan weight and size, picking it up
by the appropriate lifting points, using slings of suitable capacity, length and quantity, distributing load evenly.
Do not lift the fan using the motor haft as a picking point.
The weight of each individual fan is stated below.
Check that the blades have not been knocked or deformed during transport, is securely fixed to its rotation shaft, is able
to freely turn around its axis and that no foreign body is interfering with the impeller operation.
Provide the fixing point for the fan directly to the supporting structure of the building, after making sure that the
structure itself is able to withstand at least double of the weight of the complete fan.
When installing the fan on steel structures, it is essential to ensure that these structures have a natural minimum
frequency higher than 50% of the fan speed.
The minimum height from the ground, and the distance from the gangway, mezzanine or any other structure crossed
by people or animals must not be less than 10ft (3.05m).
Securely fix the fan by inserting screws with suitable diameter and correctly tightened (galvanised screws class 4.8 e
8.8), in all the fixing holes provided. During installation it is necessary to delimit and prohibit people and animals from
an area below with diameter not less than 1.5 times the diameter of the fan. Always connect the safety cable and
stabilizer cables as instructed.
WARNING: it is mandatory for the installer to carry out the electrical connection and the assembly of the fan in
compliance with the regulations in force at the place of installation.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
WARNING: The electrical connection must be carried out by qualified, trained and instructed personnel who are
adequately equipped with protection devices.
Check that the power voltage values printed on the motor nameplate match with the data on the power line it is
connected to. To connect the motor, refer to the electrical diagram included in this manual.
The user must electrically connect the fan to earth: a correct grounding of the motor and the controlled machine avoids
tensions and eddy currents in the bearings.
Select the safety system and the power cables (voltage reduction during the start-up stage must be less than 3%)
according to the technical features printed on the motor nameplate.
WARNING: it is necessary to place an ON/OFF disconnect safety switch adjacent to the fan, to allow maintenance
personnel to have direct control over the power supply of the fan. This accessory can be supplied upon request.
START-UP
WARNING: the start-up procedure must be carried out by qualified, trained and instructed personnel who are adequately
equipped with protection devices.
