Remove the iso-strip

The battery is already inserted at delivery and furnished with an iso-strip to protect it
from discharging prematurely. In order to activate the scale, you must remove the iso-
strip. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.
1. Push the locking tab slightly towards the middle of the scale and remove the
battery compartment cover.
2. Pull the iso-strip out.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Inserting/changing battery

To use the scale, a type CR2032, 3V battery is required.
1. Push the locking tab slightly towards the middle of the scale and remove the
battery compartment cover.
2. Push the battery against the contact spring and slide it under the large, square
retaining tab. The battery then snaps into place under the opposite retaining tab.
Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-). The plus pole (+) must point upwards.
3. Put the battery compartment cover back in place. The locking tab must snap
securely into place.
Notes on changing the battery:
‚ A change of batteries becomes necessary when "LO" appears on the
display, or when nothing at all is displayed.
‚ Only use the type of battery that is specified in the "Technical Data".
‚ Dispose of batteries in an environmentally appropriate way (see
"Disposal")
Choosing the unit of measurement
When the scale are delivered, the unit of measurement is set to "kg" as standard.
However, the measurement result can also be displayed in the English units of
measurement, "lb" (pound) or "st:lb" (stone:pound).
− Press the UNIT button next to the battery compartment on the rear-side of the
scale repeatedly. Pay attention to the display indicator.
Positioning the scale
− Place the scale on an even, firm, and dry surface. Do not place the scale on carpet.
