Dispose of packaging in an environmentally-friendly manner in line with binding
legislation and guidelines.
European guideline 2002/96/EC regarding old electric and electronic machines (WEEE)
states that used devices should not be disposed of with unsorted community waste. These used
appliances must be collected separately from regular domestic waste, in order to raise the reuse
proportion of old appliances and recycle their materials, with the aim of reducing impact on hu-
man health and nature.
The sign of a garbage bin with a line through appears on all appliances with the aim of remind-
ing purchasers about their duty to separate waste. Consumers have to approach local officers or
their salesmen, in order to be sure about how to dispose of an appliance.
• When the end of useful life comes, make sure the appliance cannot be used, by pulling the
plug out of the socket and slicing through the cable.
• Make sure packaging materials are properly disposed of. Get information about collection
