groundfault safety outlet or by
hooking the unit to a cut-out
transformer.
• Avoid accidentally starting the
unit. Do not keep your finger on
the trigger switch when carrying
the unit. Ensure that the switch is
not on; put in the off position
when plugging in the unit. Switch
the unit on only after hands and
feet are away from the cutting
head.
• Use only approved and properly
labeled extension cords. Do not
use the extension cord for
anything other than its intended
use. Do not carry the trimmer by
the cord and do not pull on the
cord to unplug the cord from the
outlet. Protect the cord from heat,
oil and keep away from sharp
edges.
• Prior to each use, inspect the
trimmer for damage. All safety
devices and other parts must be
carefully inspected to ensure that
they are functioning properly and
still serve their original intended
purposes. Handle the line cutting
knife with care. Check if moveable
parts work correctly and do not
jam, that no parts are broken, that
all parts are correctly assembled
and that all other conditions which
could influence the operation of
the electric trimmer are in order.
• Damaged safety devices and parts
must be professionally repaired or
replaced by an authorized service
center unless otherwise indicated
in the owner's manual.
• Damaged switches must be
replaced by a service center.
• Do not use the trimmer if the switch
jams.
• Frequently inspect the cord of the
trimmer and have an authorized
service dealer replace it if
damaged.
• Frequently inspect the extension
cord and replace it if damaged.
• Keep handle bars dry and free of
oil and grease.
• Do not overload the trimmer. The
unit operates better and more
safely if operated within its safe
load range.
• Unplug the trimmer when not in
use, prior to servicing, and when
replacing the cutting head.
• The cutting device must be checked
regularly during trimming jobs for
any noticeable change in rotation
to assure it is in proper condition.
Immediately replace damaged
cutting tools.
• When detecting a change in
handling characteristics,
immediately shut off the motor.
Brake the cutting device by
pressing it carefully against the
ground while maintaining safe
and sturdy control of the trimmer.
• Caution! The cutting device may
continue to rotate. Keep hands
and feet away.

Unplug cord before servicing,
cleaning, or performing other
