Description
The GRAFIK EyeR series Locking Covers provide tamper-proof
security for GRAFIK EyeR 3000/4000 Series control units, GRAFIK
EyeR QS control units, and single-gang low-voltage wallstations
and keypads. The keylock can be used on either the left or the
right side. Access to any type of control is gained by sliding the
translucent black cover to the left or right.
Notes:
Infrared (IR) wireless remote control signals can pass through the
sliding cover, but range is reduced to 35 ft (10.7 m), line of sight,
however, radio frequency (RF) range is not reduced for models
with RF.
Clearance—top and bottom: 4.5 in (114.3 mm) for heat
dissipation; lock side: a distance equal to the length of the cover
for key access and to slide the cover off; non-lock side: 1 in
(25.4 mm) for faceplate overhang.
Painting
The sliding cover may be painted, but an IR wireless signal will
not pass through a painted cover. If IR wireless remote control
operation is still required, use an optional control with an infrared
receiver.
Sand the surface of the sliding cover lightly before painting. Do not
allow paint to run into the sliding channels.

Installation
1. Turn power OFF.
WARNING: Shock hazard. May result in serious
injury or death. Always turn the circuit breaker
off or remove the main fuse from the power line
before doing any work.
Note: If retrofitting the cover on a previously installed unit, the
unit must be removed prior to the installation of the mounting
bracket.
2. For GRX models: Remove the faceplate from the control
unit: Snap the faceplate off by pulling outward at each
corner, one corner at a time. Set the faceplate aside.
Remove the overlay.
For QSG models: Open the doors to provide access to
the screw holes. Remove the overlay.
3. Determine which side of the control to locate the
keylock (see diagrams on reverse side) and orient the
mounting bracket accordingly. Pull control wires through
the mounting bracket. Wire the control per appropriate
installation instructions. Mount the control and Locking
Cover Assembly as shown below. Make sure that no
wires are pinched.
4. Replace control and tighten the 4 mounting screws.
5. For all models: Replace the overlay. Close the faceplate/
doors.
For GRX models: Snap the faceplate back on by
pressing in at each corner, one corner at a time.
6. Peel off the protective film from inner and outer surfaces
of the black sliding cover. Slide the sliding cover onto the
mounting bracket. Make sure the notch inside the sliding
cover is aligned with the keylock.
7. Turn power ON.
