TROUBLESHOOTING
Cause
1.
Blade control disengaged.
2.
Spark plug boot disconnected.
3.
Fuel tank empty or stale fuel.
4.
Fuel valve is OFF.
5.
Choke is OFF.
6.
Faulty spark plug.
7.
Spark plug wet with fuel (flooded engine).
8.
Fuel filter clogged, carburetor malfunction,
ignition malfunction, valves stuck, etc.

Bad fuel; engine stored without treating the

1.
Engage blade control.
2.
Connect wire to spark boot.
3.
Fill tank with clean, fresh gasoline.
4.
Move the fuel valve lever to ON as instructed in the
Operation section.
5.
Unless the engine is warm, move choke lever to the
CHOKE ON position.
6.
Clean, adjust gap, or replace.
7.
Dry and reinstall the spark plug. Start the engine with
the choke lever in the OFF position.
8.
Contact your Sears Service Center.

Clean or replace the air filter.
2.
Fill tank with clean, fresh gasoline.
3.

Tighten blade and adapter. Balance blade.
