TROUBLESHOOTING
No Pump
Make sure unit power is on. Press the continuous flow button.
Does the L.E.D. on the control panel light up? Go to step 1. If
the L.E.D. is not lit, the panel may be bad. Go to step 2.
1. Lift the pump out of the fluid and feel it to see if it seems to be
running. (You should be able to feel it vibrate.) If pump is
running but no fluid is coming out, check the pump gasket.
The gasket is located between the impeller housing and pump
body. If the gasket is swollen and hanging out of the pump, it
will need to be replaced. If pump is not vibrating or none of the
above fixes the problem go to the next step.
2. Unplug SmartWasher from power source. Remove the screws
from the control panel and lower panel. Unplug the pump
making sure the disconnected wires are not touching the
panel. Plug in SmartWasher and turn on power and pump.
Put a voltmeter between the pump connectors on the panel.
With the pump turned on and the continuous flow light lit, you
should read 110v (220v).
If you get the 110v (220v) reading the pump is defective, if you
do not read 110v (220v) , the panel is defective.

No Power
1. Check to make sure unit is plugged into an active 115V
(220VAC) GFCI electrical outlet. The SmartWasher will draw
approximately 10 amps (3.5 amps in 220v configuration) when
the heater is running. Make sure the breaker is of sufficient
amperage and there are no other current consuming products
connected to this circuit. Try plugging into another outlet.
2. Press the Standby/Ready button. If you see the L.E.D. flash
on for an instant, then off and hear a quick click proceed to
step 5. If there is absolutely no activity (unit is dead) go to
step 3.
3. Unplug the SmartWasher. Remove the four screws that
secure the control panel to the base. Carefully lower the
control panel until the electronics are accessable. Look at the
row of terminals that the wires are plugged on to. Check to
make sure the areas between the connectors are dry. If there
is liquid on or between the connectors, dry completely. Also
check all connectors to make sure they are snug and check
wires for any damage. If wires look damaged, go to step 4. If
everything appears OK after cleaning area between
connectors, plug the unit back in and turn on. If still no power
go to step 5.
4. If wires appear damaged, call ChemFree technical support or
your local distrubutor.
5. Unplug the SmartWasher and lower the front panel. Unplug
the heater and the pump from the control panel. (Terminals
are labeled). Make sure the wires are away from the panel
and plug the machine back in. Turn the machine on. If the
machine powers up, turn off the power and unplug from outlet.
Plug in the pump. If the unit powers up, the heater is bad. If
the unit does not power up, turn off machine, unplug from
outlet, unplug the pump and plug in the heater. If the unit
comes up, than the pump is defective. If you still have no
power than the probe or panel are defective.
