4. Scope of delivery
The scope of the delivery of this product includes:
One pump with connection cable, one operating manual. Please verify that the scope of delivery is complete.
Depending on the purpose of the application, additional accessories may be necessary (please refer to the
chapters titled "Installation", "Automation with special accessories" and "How to order spare parts").
If possible, keep the packing until the warranty period has expired. Please dispose of the packing materials in an
environmental-friendly manner.
5. Installation
5.1.
All connection lines have to be perfectly tight since leaking lines may a ect the performance of the pump and
cause considerable damage. Therefore, please use Te on tape to seal the contact surfaces between the
threaded sections of the lines and the connection with the pump. This use of sealing material such as Te on tape
C
is the only way to ensure an airtight assembly.
M
The pipes should be properly supported and should not rest on the unit. Do not force the position of the pipes
when xing them to the pump. Flexible pipes or expansion joints are necessary to avoid vibrations being
Y
transmitted from the pump to the pipes and vice versa. To prevent air bubbles in the suction pipe, give it an
CM
inclination of no less than 2%. Suitably sized gate valves should be tted to the suction pipes and delivery pipes
to isolate the pump from the circuit in the case of inspection and maintenance.
MY
Avoid excessive force when tightening the screwed connections, which can lead to damage. When laying the
CY
connection pipes, you should make sure that the pump is not exposed to any form of weight, vibration or tension.
Moreover, the connection lines must not contain any kinks or an adverse slope.
CMY
Please observe the illustrations, too, which are contained as an attachment at the end of the present operating
K
instructions. The numeric and other details included in brackets below refer to these illustrations.
5.2.
Check the characteristic curves of the electric pump to evaluate the NPSH factor and thus avoid cavitation
problems in the case of an excessively high gap between the pump and the level of the liquid to be drawn or due
to an excessively high temperature. The maximum height between the pump and the level of liquid "H" can be
calculated using the following formula:
H = pb x 10.2 – NPSH - Hf - Hv
pb: Bar pressure or liquid suction pressure [bar].
NPSH: Net positive suction head [m]
Hf: Friction and entrance head losses in the suction piping [m]
Hv: Steam pressure [m] in relation to the temperature of the liquid (tm)
Hs: safety margin [m] (minimum 0.5)
If the value calculated is less than "0" the pump should be placed below the liquid level.
Example
pb = 1 bar
Type of pump: EH 15/4
Capacity: 14 m3/h
NPSH: 1,8 m
Hf = 2,5 m
Temperature of the liquid: +50°C
Hv: 1,3 m
H = pb x 10,2 - NPSH - Hf - Hv - Hs [m].
H = 1 x 10,2 - 1,8 - 2,5 - 1,3 - 0,5 = 4,1 [m]
This means that the maximum height between the pump and the level of the liquid is 4.1 metres.

General installation information
During the entire process of installation, the device must not be connected to the electrical
mains.
The pump should be installed in a dry place with an ambient temperature not to exceed 40 °C
and not to fall below 5 °C. The pump and the entire connection system have to b
from frost and other climatic in uences.
When installing the device, please make sure that the motor
