Display Meaning
Thermometer is running a built-in test.
Memory shows previous
temperature reading.
Thermometer is ready to take
a reading.
Measurement complete.
Low battery.
Display Meaning Description
Displays "H" when measured
temperature higher than
Measured temperature
42.2˚C or 108.0˚F. Emits three
too high
short beeps and red LED is on
for 5 seconds.
Displays "L" when measured
temperature lower than 32.0˚C
Measured temperature
or 89.6˚F. Emits three short
too low
beeps and red LED is on for
5 seconds.
Displays "H" in conjunction
with the "s" when ambient
Ambient temperature
temperature is higher than
too high
40.0˚C or 104.0˚F. Emits three
short beeps and red LED is on
for 5 seconds.
Displays "L" in conjunction
with the "t" when ambient

What to Do
Wait for memory display.
Wait for ready display.
Insert ear thermometer into ear and press
"START" button.
Read temperature.

"Replacing the Battery" section.
Possible Cause and Fault Remedy
Probe may not have been
inserted properly. Take another
measurement.

Thermometer has malfunctioned.
Turn it off and take another

Please check if the battery has
been loaded correctly. Also
check polarity (+ and -) of
batteries.
If the steady battery icon is the
only symbol shown on the
display, the battery should be
replaced immediately.
