INSTALLATION
BATTERIES
To gain access to the output terminals, remove the slanting cover over the cable clamp by loosening the two top
screws which secure it at the top (D.1 ref. A). Before connecting the battery cables, remove the cable clamp by
loosening the three screws which secure it to the base (D.1 ref. B).
WARNING: explosive gas may develop while the batteries are being charged. Be careful with sparks and
open flames. Ensure that the place where the batteries are charged is well ventilated.
WARNING: before connecting the batteries, check the battery leads for correct polarity. In fact incorrect
polarity may seriously damage the battery charger even though it is protected by fuses.
The positive terminal of the battery are to be joined to the positive terminal of the battery charger; the negative
terminal of the battery joined to the negative terminal of the charger.
The connections have to be made using the cable terminals supplied.
If the battery charger comes with several outputs, always connect the output marked "MASTER". In fact, this is the
main output of the charger, the others are shunt through the use of isolation diodes. If the MASTER output is not
connected, the battery charger may provide an output voltage lower than the rated one and, as a result, less power.
WARNING: wrong connections may overheat the cables and terminals and be a source of serious danger.
CONTROL SIGNALS
To connect the instruments to the terminal block (D.2 ref. A), use cables with cross sections from 0.5 to 1.5 mm
Connect the cable by following the procedure below:
• push out the terminal clip with a thin screw driver or with your finger
• insert the cable
• release the clip.
Position and description of signals present to the terminal block control:
and
temperature probe for battery charge compensation
1
2
positive output terminal 1, MASTER (max. 160 mA)
3
positive output terminal 2 (only read with the instrument)
4
positive output terminal 3 (only read with the instrument)
5
common lead (negative terminal of battery charger)
6
state of battery charger
7
total current shunt (+) terminal of battery charger (100 mV/100 A)
8
total current shunt (-) terminal of battery charger.

TEMPERATURE PROBE
Connect the ends of the temperature probe leads to terminals 1 and 2 of the terminal block control. The leads of
the probe have no polarity therefore there is no need to connect them in a specific order. Glue the probe to one or
two batteries. If several groups of batteries are connected, secure the probe to the battery used as a reference.
ONCE ALL THE CABLES HAVE BEEN CONNECTED, FIX THEM INTO THE CABLE CLAMP AND
CLOSE THE TERMINAL BOARD AREA WITH THE SLANTING COVER PROVIDED.
