8. Force should only be applied to the center of the handle
during operation to ensure accurate torque delivery to
the fastener. Weight or force applied to any other part of
the wrench during use can result in injury, damage, or
an inaccurate torque measurement.
OPERATION
1. The torque wrench can be set to either ft lbs. (Foot
Pounds) or Nm (Newton Meters). To adjust the torque
measurement, a ratchet with a 5/8" socket, or an
adjustable wrench, can be used to turn the adjustment
bar. The adjustment bar is located just below the
handle. The increments of measure are located on two
of the six faces on the bar.
Turn the adjustment bar Clock Wise (CW) to add
increments of measure to set the wrench to your
specified torque value. Turn the adjustment bar Counter
Clock Wise (CCW) to subtract increments to the
specified torque desired.
NOTE: The adjustment bar should be set back to 0
after each use to avoid loss of calibration and to
ultimately extend the life of your wrench.
2. The base of the handle is where the increment of
measure is set. The base of the handle should meet
with the desired torque set point. Example - If you
wanted to set the wrench to 150 lb ft, you would
tighten the adjustment bar Clock Wise (CW) until the
150 lb ft side hash mark is lined up flush with the
bottom of the handle. (See the arrow indicating the set
point in the image to the right.)
3. The adjustment bar should never be fully removed. This
action will nullify the calibration, and any subsequent
measurement made with the wrench will not be
accurate.
