♦ A dust mask or respirator should be worn by all persons
entering the work area. The filter should be replaced
daily or whenever the wearer has difficulty breathing.
Note: only those dust masks suitable for working with lead
paint dust and fumes should be used. Ordinary painting
masks do not offer this protection. See your local hardware
dealer for the NIOSH approved proper mask.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Be sure your power supply agrees with the nameplate
marking. A voltage decrease of 10 percent or more will
cause a loss of power and overheating. All Stanley tools
are factory tested. If this tool does not operate, check the
power supply.
FAMILIARIZATION
The drill press comes disassembled. Remove the parts
from their packaging and check to verify that no parts are
missing. First bolt the support column to the base. Attach
the table to the support column and set on the head. Secure
the gear head on the right side with the two imbus bolts.
Screw the three drill lever arms into the drill press shaft and
place the drill chuck on the drill spindle.
WARNING! Clean the drill chuck and the drill spindle
thoroughly so that they are completely free of grease.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Always check that the main voltage corresponds to the
voltage on the rating plate.
Warning! If the power cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, authorized Stanley
Service Center or an equally qualified person in order
to avoid damage or injury. If the power cord is replaced
by an equally qualified person, but not authorized by
Stanley, the warranty will not be valid.
Grounding Instructions
In the event of a malfunction or breakdown,
grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric
current and reduces the risk of sock. This tool is equipped with
an electric cord that has an equipment grounding conductor
and grounding plug. The plug MUST be plugged into a
matching receptacle that is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with ALL local codes and ordinances.
Do not modify the plug provided. If it will not fit the
receptacle, have the proper receptacle installed by a qualified
electrician.
Improper connection of the equipment grounding
conductor can result risk of electric sock. the conductor with
the green insulation (with or without yellow stripes) is the
equipment grounding conductor. If repair or replacement
of the electric cord or plug is necessary, Do not connect the
equipment grounding conductor to a live terminal.
Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if you
do not completely understand the grounding instructions, or if
you are not sure the tool is properly grounded.
USING AN EXTENSION CABLE
If it is necessary to use an extension cable, please used
an approved extension cable that fits the tool's power input
specifications. The minimum cross-sectional area of the
conducting wire is 1.5 sq. mm. Cables should be untangled
before reeling up.
