Before operating the tester, read the user guide and the safety
instructions.
The acid contained in the batteries is highly corrosive and may burn the
skin.
The gas released by the batteries may cause fires or explosions.
When working on hot engines, do not touch engine components which may
reach high operating temperatures to avoid possible burns (components
such as exhaust manifold, turbocharger, etc).
When working with an open bonnet, some moving parts without guards
may be present (such as pulleys and belts); also, when working with
engine not running, the turbocharger may start.
THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTER should ONLY be used with 12V
startup batteries.
To ensure more accuracy during the test, the connection should be made on the pole
and not on the terminal.
The tester is operated by the battery being tested and is protected from inversion of
polarity and overvoltage.
To ensure optimal test results, it is advisable not to use the battery for at
least one hour after charging it or after a high draw of current.
During the recharging operation, the battery voltage is greatly increased
and could therefore cause the tester to give an incorrect result.
When testing new, dry charged batteries, it is advisable to wait a few hours after
introducing the acid, to allow the battery to reach its full capacity. Testing the batteries
soon after filling them up may cause incorrect results.
