Description
The 2010-2-DACT Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter
(DACT) provides communications between a compatible
control panel and a central monitoring station (CMS) over the
public switched telephone network (PSTN).
The DACT uses the Contact ID (CID) protocol and is capable
of single, dual, or split reporting of events to up to six
configurable central monitoring stations.
An optional GPRS board (product code ATS7310, not
supplied) can be installed onto the DACT to provide mobile
network communications.

Installation
WARNING:
Electrocution hazard. To avoid personal injury or
death from electrocution, remove all sources of power and
allow stored energy to discharge before installing or removing
equipment.
To install the DACT board:
1.
Install the DACT board into slot 3 of the control panel
chassis, as shown in Figure 1. Secure the board to the
chassis with the screw provided.
2.
Remove the RJ-11 jack (or regional equivalent) from one
end of each telephone cable used and replace it with the
connector provided (wiring is not polarity sensitive).
3.
Connect lines 1 and 2 to the DACT using either the PBX
or PSTN channels as required, and then to the PBX
equipment or PSTN network, as shown in Figure 2.
A second line may be connected to provide an optional
backup channel in the event of a communications error on
the primary line.
4.
Restore the control panel power.
5.
Configure the DACT and CMS settings at the control
panel. See your control panel installation manual for
further information.
