Pushing the Tractor by Hand
1. Disengage the PTO and turn the engine off.
2. Push the lever approximately 2.3/8" (6 cm) to release
the transmission (B, Figure 3).
3. The tractor can now be pushed by hand.
DO NOT TOW TRACTOR
Towing the unit will cause transmission dam-
age.
• Do not use another vehicle to push or pull
this unit.
• Do not actuate the transmission release

Adjusting Mower Cutting Height
The mower lift lever (A, Figure 4) is used to lower the
deck to cutting position or raise the deck to transport posi-
tion.
To lower the deck, pull back slightly on the mower lift
lever, push it to the left and slide it down. To raise the
deck to transport pull up on the mower lift lever and lock
in notch to the right. Do not cut in transport.
The cutting height adjustment knob (B) controls the
mower cutting height. The cutting height is infinitely ad-
justable between approximately 1.0" and 4.0" (2,5 - 10,2
cm). Turn the knob clockwise to raise the deck and coun-
terclockwise to lower it.

Attaching a Trailer
The maximum horizontal drawbar force allowed is 280
Newton. The maximum vertical drawbar force is 160
Newton. This equates to a 250 lbs (113 kg) trailer on a 10
degree hill. Secure the trailer with an appropriately sized
clevis pin (A, Figure 5) and clip (B).

Stopping the Tractor and Engine
WARNING
Fuel and its vapors are extremely
flammable and explosive.
Fire or explosion can cause severe burns
or
death.
• Do not choke the carburetor to stop engine.
1. Remove the load by disengaging all PTO driven at-
tachments.
2. For Engines without a Shutdown Solenoid: Move
the throttle to the slow or low idle position. Allow the
engine to run at idle for 30-60 seconds; then stop the
engine.
For Engines Equipped with a Shutdown Solenoid:
Position the throttle control between half and full throt-
tle; then stop the engine.
