Operating Cycle for Automatic Utility Pump
 When first plugged in, pump runs for 30 seconds and checks for water
If there is water (approximately 1-1/2 in. or more), the pump will remove water downto ~1/4 in.

If there is no water, pump will shut off for 15 seconds, then run for 10 secondschecking for water. If there

still is no water, this cycle repeats 3 times.
If still no water, pump shuts off for 2 minutes, then turns on again for 10 secondschecking for water. This

cycle then repeats as long as there is no water and pump isplugged in
As soon as approximately 1-1/2 in. of water fills the area around the pump, the pumpwill begin pumping

again after the 2 minute cycle. Cycle above will repeat after wateris removed.
AIRLOCK
This pump is a centrifugal utility pump, designed toefficiently remove
water. However, it cannot move air. If airis trapped inside the
pump (a condition called"airlock"), the pump cannot pump
water out even thoughthe pump is completely submerged. This
pump hastwo anti-airlock holes. Air flows out through
theanti-airlock hole, eliminating the airlock so that the pump
canoperate properly. If debris blocks the anti-airlock hole, unplugthe
pump, clean out the anti-airlock hole, and restart thepump.
Alternately, drain the water out of the gardenhose, keep the end
of the hose out of the water, and plugin the power cord,
restarting the pump.
CAUTION: This hole is for anti-airlock purposes. Leakage of air
or water is NORMAL.
DO NOT BLOCK THIS HOLE!

CARE AND CLEANING

CAUTION: Always use the handle to lift the pump. Never use the power cord to lift the pump. To avoid skin burns,
unplug the pump and allow time for it to cool after periods of extended use.
Do
When the power is disconnected, inspect

the pump suction screen and remove all
debris, then plug the pump back into the
grounded (GFCI) outlet.
Do Not
Do not disassemble the motor housing. This

motor has NO repairable internal parts, and
disassembly may cause leakage or dangerous
electrical wiring issues.
 Do not lift up the pump by the power cord.
