12.2 Checks before deinstallation
Before deinstallation, check that:
• The winch is shut down
• The area located directly below the
winch to be removed is secured in
compliance
with
regulations.
• The installer has the necessary and
appropriate slings to recover the altotir™
under the required safety conditions.
• The installer has the tools required for
installation (see section 7, Installation).
• The installer must ensure that the
anchoring point of the lifting device used
to deinstall the altotir™ winch is
compatible with the weight of the winch,
in compliance with the applicable
regulations.
• The installer must ensure that there are
no obstacles on which the altotir™ winch
may snag when being lowered.
12.3 Deinstallation procedure
NOTE: Tractel
2 operators required to perform deinstallation
procedure.
Tools: Same tools used for installation (see
section 7, Installation).
12.3.1 Deinstallation of an altotir™
• Using a webbing sling, sling the winch
by its carrying handle. When slinging,
make sure the assembly {jib crane and
the altotir™ winch} is as stable as
possible during and after dismantling.
• Using the 19 mm open end wrench, one
of the operators loosens the flange
fastening nuts (Fig. 8, item 1). The
second operator must securely hold the
assembly {altotir™ winch and the jib
crane} to keep it from swinging or
pivoting.
• Using the deinstallation lifting device, the
operator in charge of loosening the nuts
must lift the altotir™ winch slightly to
separate it from the anchoring tube
(Fig.10, item 11).
• During the removal operation, the
operators must check that no part of the
winch, such as the control unit, power
the
applicable
connector or wire rope, is stuck under
the winch.
-> Removal completed
the jib crane secured to the altotir™ winch.
12.3.2 Deinstallation of an altotir™ on
• Dismantle the idler pulleys (Fig. 11,
items 4 and 5) taking the usual
precautions.
• Using a webbing sling, sling the winch
by the base tube. The altotir™ winch
must be slung so that it is as stable as
possible during and after dismantling.
• Using the 17 mm open end wrench, one
of the two operators loosens the flange
fastening nuts (Fig. 10, item 14). The
®
recommendation:
second operator must securely hold
altotir™ winch to keep it from swinging.
