EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Read and understand these procedures prior to using this
controller. Disconnect power to the heater in the event of an
emergency.

Electric Shock:


Do not touch the injured person while they are still in contact with the electrical current.

Call your local emergency service if the injured person experiences: severe burns, confusion,
difficulty breathing, heart rhythm problems, cardiac arrest, muscle pain and contractions,
seizures, or a loss of consciousness.
Minor Burns:

Hold the burn area under cool running water for 10-15 minutes.

Remove rings or other tight items from the burned area.
Major Burns:

Call your local emergency service.

Protect the person from further harm.

Remove rings or other tight items from the burned area.

Monitor breathing and have a qualified person perform CPR if necessary.
Fire:

Call your local emergency service.

If it is safe to do so, use a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire, otherwise evacuate to a safe
distance and wait for help to arrive.

This controller is built from material that will not support a flame, but could ignite nearby
combustible material.

PROBLEM
SOLUTION(S)
Controller Doesn't Turn On
Confirm that controller fuses are OK. Replace if necessary.
Verify the controller is connected to the proper voltage.
Inspect the controller for damage (see inspection procedure).
If the controller is undamaged and connected to the proper
voltage and doesn't turn on, contact BriskHeat
Circuit Breaker or GFCI Tripping
Verify circuit breaker is rated for the current requirements marked
on the controller's label.
Inspect the controller for damage (see inspection procedure).
Verify that the heater is rated for less than or equal to the
controller's Amp capacity.
Heater Doesn't Heat
Verify there is power to the controller.
Verify the heater plug has been wired correctly.
Verify the temperature sensor is securely fastened to the part and
is not damaged.
Verify that the controller setpoint is set higher than the current
temperature.
Controller Overshoots or Doesn't
Adjust PID values or perform Autotune.
Reach Target Temperature
AtE Message
The controller displays this error message if Autotune is not
successful.
Sensor Break Message
Disconnect sensor, check continuity with meter, replace if faulty.
EPr Message
If the controller displays EPr, this error message will display
briefly and clear automatically.
If this error message occurs frequently, please contact your
BriskHeat representative for service.
