WARNING:
To prevent serious injury, never perform
maintenance or repairs while the unit is running. Always
allow the unit to cool before servicing or repairing the unit.
Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the unit from
starting accidentally.
NOTE: Some maintenance procedures may require special tools or
skills. If you are unsure about these procedures, take the unit to
a qualified service dealer.

LUBRICATING THE BLADE

For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the blade before
and after each use.
1. Stop the engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, allow the unit
to cool, and disconnect the spark plug wire. Never lubricate the
blade while the engine is running or the blade is moving.
2. Apply a light machine oil along the edge of the top blade (Fig. 6).
MAINTAINING THE BLADE
The cutting blades are made of high-quality hardened steel. During
normal use, they will not require resharpening unless they become
nicked by contact with hard objects, such as wire fencing, glass,
stones, or bricks.
If a nick occurs and it interferes with operation:
1. Stop the engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, allow the unit
to cool, and disconnect the spark plug wire.
2. Use a fine-toothed file or sharpening stone to remove the nick.
