This chapter summarises the most common problems you could encounter with the appliance. If
you are unable to solve the problem with the information below, contact the Consumer Care
Centre in your country.
Problem
The appliance does
not work.
Solution
Make sure you have put the mains plug in the wall socket and pressed
the on/off button. If the appliance does not switch on, perhaps a fuse in
the electrical system of your home has blown. This may happen if the
connector on the underside of the teapot or on the base is wet or if too
much power is drawn from the circuit to which the appliance is
connected. Make sure that you do not let too many other appliances
draw power from the circuit to which the appliance is connected while
this appliance is operating.
Make sure that the surface of the base is dry and the teapot is placed on
the base before you press one of the quick-select buttons or the
personal settings button.
the appliance does not start heating up. Wait until you hear the bell
indication, otherwise the boil-dry protection is activated and the
appliance switches off automatically. If this happens, the appliance
